SKF NU2206 ECP/C3 single-row cylindrical roller bearing as a non-locating bearing with a 30 mm bore, 62 mm outer diameter and a polyamide cage for high radial loads.
The SKF NU2206 ECP/C3 cylindrical roller bearing is a single-row free-running bearing with an optimised internal design. Thanks to the line contact between the rollers and the raceway, this design can accommodate high radial forces. The open design makes the bearing suitable for oil- or grease-lubricated systems. The inner ring can be withdrawn from either side, which facilitates both installation and removal and allows axial length changes of the shaft within the housing to be compensated for without constraint.
This cylindrical roller bearing is primarily used in bearing arrangements subject to purely radial loads. As the outer ring has two fixed flanges and the inner ring is flangeless, the design functions as a pure non-locating bearing. If thermal expansion of the shaft occurs during operation, the inner ring moves axially with minimal resistance relative to the roller set. This helps to protect adjacent components from axial stress.
The suffix ECP denotes an optimised internal design in combination with a lightweight polyamide cage. This cage operates with low vibration and is designed for operating temperatures ranging from –30 to +120 degrees. The suffix C3 indicates a slightly increased radial clearance. This additional clearance counteracts any distortion of the rolling elements when tight shaft fits cause the inner ring to expand or when operational heating occurs. Furthermore, the bearing offers dimensional accuracy to P0 and increased running accuracy to P6.
The bearing has an inner diameter of 30 mm, an outer diameter of 62 mm and a width of 20 mm. Thanks to these standardised dimensions, the NU2206 ECP/C3 cylindrical roller bearing can be fitted into standardised housing bores. Before installation, check the existing bearing seat on the shaft and housing.
In the NU design, the outer ring guides the rollers via two fixed flanges, whilst the inner ring has no flanges. This allows the inner ring to move axially in both directions. This counteracts internal stresses when the shaft heats up during operation and expands in length.
The abbreviation ECP stands for an optimised internal design featuring a polyamide cage. The material absorbs shocks in the rolling element set and is characterised by its low weight. It is suitable for operating temperatures between -30 and +120 degrees and ensures smooth running.
The C3 bearing clearance offers greater radial clearance than the standard bearing clearance class. It is recommended where tight fits on the shaft or housing cause the inner ring to expand or the outer ring to contract. Even in the event of significant temperature differences between the rotating inner ring and the stationary housing, sufficient operating clearance is maintained thanks to C3.
As an open bearing, this design has no integrated seals. The rolling bearing is supplied with grease or lubricating oil via the surrounding machine structure. To protect the bearing from particles and moisture, external sealing elements such as shaft seals or labyrinth seals must be fitted in the housing.
This roller bearing combines P0-class dimensional accuracy with P6-class running accuracy. This results in tighter concentricity tolerances for rotating shafts, which reduces vibration during operation. It complies with current standards for demanding industrial drives.
