The FAG NJ312 -E-XL-M1-C3 cylindrical roller bearing, measuring 60x130x31 mm, with a brass cage and C3 clearance, offers a high-load-capacity solution for demanding industrial drives.
The FAG NJ312 -E-XL-M1-C3 cylindrical roller bearing is designed as a single-row radial roller bearing for heavy radial loads. In the NJ design, this version acts as a support bearing: fixed flanges on the outer ring and a single-sided flange on the inner ring absorb axial forces in one direction. With a 60 mm bore, 130 mm outer diameter and 31 mm width, this open bearing has proven its worth in demanding shaft mountings and industrial drive units.
This cylindrical roller bearing is particularly suitable for shaft mountings subject to high radial forces, where axial displacement in one direction must also be accommodated. The inner ring can be removed from one side, which facilitates the separate assembly of the inner and outer rings. Designs involving thermal expansion of the shaft benefit from this axial displacement, whilst guidance in the opposite direction remains stable.
This design is typically used in rotating shaft assemblies and heavy-duty industrial drives where axial compensation movements are required.
The solid brass cage (M1) guides the cylindrical rollers securely and withstands severe mechanical vibrations as well as high acceleration forces. In combination with the increased radial clearance (C3), smooth running is maintained even when operational heating or tight fits reduce the radial clearance. With a permissible temperature range of -30 to +150 degrees, the bearing operates reliably under thermally demanding environmental conditions.
A single-row cylindrical roller bearing of the NJ type with a 60 mm bore, 130 mm outer diameter and 31 mm width. It serves as a support bearing that accommodates high radial loads as well as axial forces in one direction. The combination of a brass cage and C3 clearance supports demanding operating conditions.
The NJ design features two fixed flanges on the outer ring and one fixed flange on the inner ring. As a result, the bearing supports the shaft in one axial direction whilst allowing axial movement in the other direction. The inner ring can also be removed from one side, which simplifies installation and maintenance.
The code letter M1 denotes a solid brass cage. Brass cages offer high mechanical stability and resistance to vibrations and shock loads. They are suitable for applications involving high dynamic mass forces, where standard cages reach their limits.
Bearing clearance group C3 is characterised by a slightly increased radial bearing clearance compared with the standard version. It compensates for thermal expansion of the shaft at operating temperatures of up to +150 degrees. It also prevents the radial clearance from being unduly restricted when fixed interference fits are mounted on the shaft or in the housing.
This roller bearing has no integrated seals and is designed without a groove or lubrication bore in the outer ring. Lubrication with grease or oil is provided via the surrounding housing structure. To prevent the ingress of dirt and moisture, external sealing elements must be fitted to the housing covers.
The bearing complies with standard tolerance class P0 or Normal (PN), which corresponds to ABEC 1. This manufacturing precision fully meets the standardised requirements in general mechanical and plant engineering.
