The NJ319 -E-XL-TVP2 cylindrical roller bearing from FAG Wälzlager is a single-row support bearing measuring 95 × 200 × 45 mm, designed for high radial loads.
As a single-row roller bearing, the NJ319 -E-XL-TVP2 cylindrical roller bearing from FAG Wälzlager can withstand very high radial forces. The cylindrical rollers create a broad line of contact with the raceway, which, compared to the point contact found in ball bearings, enables high rigidity. The open bearing has a bore of 95 mm, an outer diameter of 200 mm and a width of 45 mm. It has standard radial clearance and operates within a temperature range of -30 to +120 degrees.
The NJ319 -E-XL-TVP2 cylindrical roller bearing is primarily used where high radial forces act on rotating shafts and, at the same time, axial displacements in one direction need to be compensated for. The NJ design functions as a support bearing. The outer ring has two fixed flanges, whilst the inner ring has one fixed flange and is removable on one side. This enables the bearing to absorb axial forces from one direction. In the opposite direction, the design allows for changes in the shaft’s length without restriction.
The TVP2 polyamide cage guides the rolling elements whilst being lightweight and dampens operating noise during operation. This material is suitable for the specified temperature range of –30 to +120 degrees. Manufacture to tolerance class P0 (equivalent to ABEC 1) complies with the standardised normal tolerance for industrial applications. Lubrication is provided by design via the surrounding housing, as the outer ring is designed without its own lubrication groove or bore.
With a bore of 95 mm, an outer diameter of 200 mm and a width of 45 mm, the bearing requires a clearly defined installation space. These dimensions determine the correct fit on the shaft and within the housing. A precise dimensional check at the installation point ensures error-free fitting.
NJ-type bearings have two fixed flanges on the outer ring and one fixed flange on the inner ring. This enables the bearing to accommodate axial loads in one direction. In the opposite direction, the inner ring slides axially, which compensates for thermal expansion of the shaft. Furthermore, the inner ring, which can be removed from one side, facilitates separate assembly.
The permissible temperature range is between -30 and +120 degrees. This thermal operating range is limited, amongst other things, by the dimensionally stable polyamide cage. To ensure trouble-free operation, the lubricant used must also be suitable for the temperatures encountered during operation.
As this is an open design without integrated seals, the bearing requires an external supply of lubricant, either grease or oil. Because the outer ring has no groove or lubrication bore, the lubricant must be supplied via the housing design or the axial end face.
Normal radial bearing clearance refers to the standard radial clearance between the rollers and the raceways when no load is applied. This clearance compensates for operational heating and the usual fit allowances when the rings are pressed in, so that the rolling elements can roll smoothly without excessive preload.
The polyamide cage is characterised by its low weight and good damping properties. As a result, the rollers run quietly and dynamic cage loads are reduced. Furthermore, the material maintains the dimensional stability of the cylindrical roller bodies within their raceways in the temperature range from -30 to +120 degrees.
