The FAG NJ224 -E-XL-TVP2 cylindrical roller bearing, with a 120 mm bore, can accommodate high radial loads as well as axial forces in one direction.
The NJ224 -E-XL-TVP2 cylindrical roller bearing is a single-row radial roller bearing from the FAG range. With key dimensions of 120 mm bore diameter, 215 mm outer diameter and 40 mm overall width, this design is suitable for heavy-duty industrial shaft mountings. Thanks to the line contact between the rollers and raceways, the bearing reliably absorbs high radial forces. As an open design without an integrated seal, the roller bearing is designed to be lubricated via the surrounding bearing housing.
This cylindrical roller bearing is used in designs where high radial forces and single-sided axial forces occur. In the NJ version, the bearing acts as a support bearing. It accommodates radial loads as well as axial forces from one direction, as the inner ring is removable from one side and features a fixed flange. In the opposite axial direction, the bearing design allows for axial displacement, enabling changes in shaft length to be compensated for without inducing constraint forces.
The suffix TVP2 denotes a version with a polyamide cage. This cage material reduces the weight of the rotating components and dampens vibrations during operation. The permissible temperature range is between –30 and +120 degrees Celsius. Manufactured to tolerance class P0/PN or ABEC 1 and with standard radial bearing clearance, the bearing can be precisely fitted into housings and onto shafts. As the outer ring is designed without a lubrication bore or groove, the lubricant is supplied via the surrounding structure.
The NJ design features two solid flanges on the outer ring and one solid flange on the inner ring. This enables the bearing to accommodate radial forces as well as unilateral axial forces. In the opposite direction, the design allows for axial displacement, thereby compensating for thermal linear expansion of the shaft within the bearing.
The bearing has an inner diameter of 120 mm, an outer diameter of 215 mm and a total width of 40 mm. These standardised key dimensions determine the required installation space on the shaft and in the housing bore.
TVP2 refers to a polyamide cage that is guided on the rolling elements. It is characterised by its low weight and vibration-damping properties. The polyamide cage is designed for a temperature range of -30 to +120 degrees Celsius.
As the bearing is designed without factory-fitted sealing washers and the outer ring has no lubrication groove, the lubricant must be supplied directly via the housing design. Depending on the speed and operating conditions, you can operate the component using either grease or lubricating oil.
The component is manufactured to the standard tolerance class P0 (equivalent to PN or ABEC 1) and has a standard radial bearing clearance. This combination is suitable for common mounting fits in mechanical engineering at standard operating temperatures.
