The SKF NU222 ECP single-row cylindrical roller bearing, measuring 110x200x38 mm, offers a heavy-duty, free-running bearing with a removable inner ring for demanding industrial applications.
As a single-row cylindrical roller bearing, the SKF NU222 ECP can withstand very high radial loads. In the Explorer version, the bearing features an optimised internal design that reduces friction and improves contact between the rollers and the raceway. With a bore of 110 mm, an outer diameter of 200 mm and a width of 38 mm, this roller bearing is suitable for heavy-duty machine shafts. The open design without seals facilitates use in oil- or grease-lubricated systems.
This roller bearing is primarily used where purely radial loads are present and thermally induced changes in shaft length need to be compensated for. As a free-end bearing of the NU design, the outer ring has two fixed guide flanges, whilst the flangeless inner ring remains free to slide on both sides. This enables the bearing to compensate for axial displacement without inducing stress within the bearing. Typical applications are found in general mechanical engineering in bearing arrangements subject to high radial forces and temperature-induced shaft expansion.
The polyamide cage guides the cylindrical rollers precisely, operates quietly and reduces the weight of the cage assembly. The component can be used in a temperature range from -30 to +120 degrees. As the inner ring is fully removable, you can fit the outer and inner rings separately. The dimensional accuracy corresponds to tolerance class Normal (P0/ABEC 1), whilst the increased running accuracy of class P6 (ABEC 3) contributes to high concentricity.
The bearing has an inner diameter of 110 mm, an outer diameter of 200 mm and a width of 38 mm. These dimensions correspond to the standardised main dimensions for cylindrical roller bearings of this size and allow for direct replacement in existing bearing housings.
In the NU design, the outer ring has two fixed flanges to guide the rollers, whilst the inner ring has no flanges. This allows the inner ring to be removed from either side. The bearing acts purely as a non-locating bearing and accommodates changes in the shaft length without constraint.
The abbreviation E stands for an optimised internal design of the bearing. The suffix CP denotes a polyamide cage, which ensures low-friction operation and is designed for a temperature range of -30 to +120 degrees.
This cylindrical roller bearing has a standard radial clearance for normal fit and temperature conditions. The dimensional accuracy is in tolerance class P0 (ABEC 1), whilst the running accuracy is manufactured to class P6 (ABEC 3), which improves the shaft’s concentricity during operation.
As the bearing is of an open design without integrated seals, the lubricant is supplied via the housing. It is suitable for lubrication with grease or lubricating oil. The outer ring has no groove or lubrication bore, so the lubricant is supplied from the side.
