The FAG NUP2304 -E-XL-TVP2 cylindrical roller bearing supports shafts with a 20 mm bore as a fixed bearing whilst offering high radial load-carrying capacity.
The single-row cylindrical roller bearing NUP2304 -E-XL-TVP2 from FAG is an open rolling bearing designed for industrial applications with demanding load profiles. With an inside diameter of 20 mm, an outside diameter of 52 mm and a width of 21 mm, this design can accommodate substantial radial loads. Thanks to the NUP design, the unit serves as a fixed bearing that provides axial guidance in both directions. The integrated polyamide cage ensures quiet operation within a temperature range of -30 to +120 degrees.
This bearing type is suitable for bearing locations subject to high radial forces where axial guidance on both sides is also required. Thanks to the fixed-bearing functionality of the NUP geometry, the bearing secures rotating shafts axially in both directions within the housing. No additional axial guidance bearings are required at this bearing location. As the bearing is designed as an open variant, it can be integrated into existing lubrication systems, whilst surrounding components provide protection against dirt and moisture.
The polyamide cage guides the cylindrical rollers with low friction and is characterised by its low weight. Compared with heavier cage variants, this material promotes shock absorption and quiet operation. When designing the bearing, the temperature range of -30 to +120 degrees and the standard radial clearance must be taken into account. The component complies with tolerance class P0/PN or ABEC 1. As the outer ring is designed without a groove or lubrication bore, the lubricant is supplied via the lateral clearance of the bearing assembly.
This bearing has a bore diameter of 20 mm, an outside diameter of 52 mm and a width across flats of 21 mm. The design combines radial rigidity with axial guidance on both sides for the shaft supported by the bearing.
The NUP design features two fixed flanges on the outer ring, one fixed flange on the inner ring and a separate flange disc. This allows the bearing to function as a fixed bearing: it guides shafts in both axial directions and, in addition to the primary radial forces, also absorbs axial loads.
The suffix TVP2 indicates a version with a polyamide cage. This material reduces the weight of the rotating components, lowers operating noise and ensures low-friction roller movement. The component is suitable for operating temperatures between -30 and +120 degrees.
As there are no integrated seals, the component is supplied with grease or oil via the machine’s lubrication system. Since the outer ring has neither a lubrication groove nor lubrication holes, the lubricant enters directly onto the raceways from the side, between the bearing rings.
The bearing features standard radial bearing clearance, suitable for normal operating conditions. It is manufactured to tolerance class P0/PN (comparable to ABEC 1), which defines standardised dimensional and running accuracies for industrial use.
The permissible operating temperature ranges from -30 to +120 degrees Celsius. The polyamide cage is one of the factors determining these limits. To ensure correct operation, the lubricant selected must also be suitable for this temperature range.
