The FAG NUP305 -E-XL-TVP2-C3 cylindrical roller bearing, with a 25 mm bore and a fixed-end function, provides stable shaft guidance under high radial loads.
The NUP305 -E-XL-TVP2-C3 cylindrical roller bearing belongs to the group of single-row radial roller bearings in the reinforced E design. With dimensions of a 25 mm bore, 62 mm outer diameter and 17 mm width, this design can accommodate high radial forces. Thanks to the NUP design, featuring two fixed flanges on the outer ring, one fixed flange on the inner ring and a loose flange disc, the component guides the shaft in both axial directions as a fixed bearing.
Typical applications include industrial shaft mountings where, in addition to high transverse forces, alternating axial forces also occur. Design engineers use cylindrical roller bearings of this type to fix shaft positions in a positive-lock manner. Thanks to the line contact between the rolling elements and raceways, the unit resists elastic deformation. The open design allows for direct integration into the lubrication system of the respective unit.
The designation TVP2 indicates a solid polyamide window cage. This cage is characterised by its low weight, which reduces inertial forces and promotes smooth roller guidance. The designation C3 indicates an increased radial bearing clearance compared to the standard. It provides additional leeway during operation when temperature differences occur between the inner and outer rings or when tight fits restrict the bearing clearance.
The NUP design features two fixed flanges on the outer ring, one fixed flange on the inner ring and a loose flange disc. As a result, the bearing acts as a fixed bearing and can guide a shaft axially in both directions. At the same time, it transmits high radial forces via the cylindrical rollers to the surrounding housing structure.
With an internal diameter of 25 mm, an external diameter of 62 mm and a width of 17 mm, the bearing complies with the standardised dimensions of the 305 series. These standardised dimensions facilitate the design of new constructions as well as a one-to-one replacement during maintenance work in mechanical engineering.
The designation C3 indicates a radial clearance that is greater than the standard group. This additional clearance compensates for thermal expansion during operation and prevents the rollers from jamming when press fits cause the inner ring to expand or the outer ring to contract.
The TVP2 cage is made of polyamide and guides the cylindrical rollers whilst being lightweight. The material operates quietly and can withstand operating temperatures ranging from -30 to +120 degrees Celsius. For applications involving extreme continuous temperatures, the material limits of the polymer must be taken into account.
With a tolerance class of P0 or PN (corresponding to ABEC 1), the bearing meets the standardised requirements for dimensional and running accuracy. This standard tolerance is designed for use in conventional mechanical engineering and standard drives in continuous industrial operation.
As an open bearing without integrated sealing washers, the component requires an external lubricant supply via the housing design. Depending on the system design, the bearing can be operated using grease or oil. The housing seal must also protect the interior from ingress of particles.
