The FAG NUP2224 -E-XL-TVP2 cylindrical roller bearing, measuring 120 × 215 × 58 mm, serves as a single-row fixed bearing designed to accommodate high radial loads.
The NUP2224 -E-XL-TVP2 cylindrical roller bearing guides shafts accurately and, as a single-row roller bearing, accommodates high radial forces in mechanical engineering. Thanks to the NUP design, featuring two fixed flanges on the outer ring and one fixed flange and one loose flange disc on the inner ring, this version functions as a fixed bearing. It locks the shaft in both axial directions. FAG’s open design features a lightweight polyamide cage and is suitable for operating temperatures ranging from –30 to +120 degrees.
Design engineers use this design when shafts must carry axial forces on both sides in addition to significant radial loads. The integrated flange plate enables the shaft to be axially fixed without the need for a separate axial bearing. Typical applications can be found in general industrial gearbox construction and in drives with combined load directions. As the open bearing has no seals, it is integrated directly into the lubrication circuit of the surrounding housing structure.
The TVP2 polyamide cage is characterised by its low weight, which reduces inertial forces during rotation. The elastic material dampens vibrations and promotes quiet running of the roller elements. When installing, please take into account the permissible temperature range of -30 to +120 degrees. The roller bearing has a standard radial clearance and a tolerance class of P0/PN or ABEC 1 for standard fits on the 120 mm shaft.
This roller bearing has a bore of 120 mm, an outer diameter of 215 mm and a width across flats of 58 mm. Before pressing the bearing into place, check the dimensions of the shaft and the housing bore to ensure the correct bearing fit within tolerance class P0/PN.
The NUP design is a cylindrical roller bearing with a fixed support function. Two fixed flanges on the outer ring and a fixed flange with a loose flange disc on the inner ring enable the bearing to accommodate axial forces in both directions. This ensures that the shaft is positioned axially with precision within the housing.
The polyamide cage guides the cylindrical rolling elements with low friction and, thanks to its low weight, reduces centrifugal forces. The material ensures good noise damping during operation. The component is designed for ambient temperatures between -30 and +120 degrees.
The bearing has no integral seals and is lubricated with grease or oil via the machine’s lubrication system. The outer ring has no lubrication groove or lubrication bore. Protection against dust and moisture must be provided by external housing seals.
The standard radial bearing clearance ensures a defined operating clearance between the rollers and raceways in standard fits. Following the thermal or mechanical joining of the rings, sufficient clearance remains to prevent the rolling elements from becoming stressed at normal operating temperatures.
Classification as P0 or ABEC 1 corresponds to the standard industrial tolerance for dimensional and geometric accuracy. It defines precise tolerance limits for diameter and run-out. This precision grade meets the standard requirements of general mechanical engineering for conventional fit designs.
