The FAG NUP311 -E-XL-TVP2-C3 cylindrical roller bearing, measuring 55x120x29 mm, offers high radial load-carrying capacity, C3 clearance and precise fixed-bearing performance for demanding industrial applications.
As an open roller bearing, the single-row cylindrical roller bearing NUP311 -E-XL-TVP2-C3 withstands very high radial forces and supports shafts axially in both directions. The line contact between the cylindrical rollers enables the bearing to withstand high radial forces. A dimensionally stable polyamide cage guides the rollers quietly. FAG manufactures this bearing to tolerance class P0/PN (ABEC 1), making it suitable for precisely guided shafts in general mechanical engineering.
Design engineers primarily use this design in bearing arrangements where high radial loads occur and the shaft needs to be axially fixed at both ends simultaneously. Typical applications include gearbox shafts and industrial drive shafts subjected to combined loads. The NUP design features two fixed flanges on the outer ring, as well as one fixed flange and one loose flange disc on the inner ring. This enables the bearing to accommodate axial forces in both directions without the need for a separate thrust bearing.
The C3 designation indicates an increased radial clearance compared to the standard. This additional clearance compensates for operational heating or tight fits on the shaft and housing without causing the rollers to become stressed. The integrated polyamide cage (TVP2) reduces the weight of the rolling element set, dampens running noise and is designed for a temperature range of -30 °C to +120 °C. As this is an unsealed bearing without a lubrication groove in the outer ring, you can integrate it directly into your plant’s existing lubrication system.
The bearing has a bore of 55 mm, an outer diameter of 120 mm and a width of 29 mm. These dimensions correspond to the standardised 311 series.
Unlike pure floating bearings, the NUP design features fixed flanges on the outer ring and a flange with a loose flange disc on the inner ring. As a result, the component acts as a fixed bearing and, in addition to high radial forces, also absorbs axial guidance forces from both directions.
When installed, the C3 bearing clearance group provides more radial clearance than the standard version. This prevents the rolling elements from becoming jammed if temperature differences arise between the inner and outer rings during operation, or if tight fit dimensions cause the inner ring to expand.
The permissible operating range is between -30 °C and +120 °C. This range is essentially limited by the thermal resistance of the polyamide cage and the lubricant used in the surrounding structure.
The open bearing has no integrated seals and no lubrication channel in the outer ring. You must lubricate the bearing via the housing using a suitable grease or via a continuous oil circulation system in order to minimise wear.
The bearing is manufactured to the standard tolerance class P0 (also known as standard tolerance PN or ABEC 1). This class fully meets the usual accuracy requirements in general mechanical engineering, gearbox manufacturing and plant engineering.
