The FAG NUP2214 -E-XL-TVP2-C3 cylindrical roller bearing, measuring 70x125x31 mm, serves as a fixed bearing for high radial loads and axial guidance on both sides.
The single-row cylindrical roller bearing NUP2214 -E-XL-TVP2-C3 can withstand high radial forces thanks to the line contact of the cylindrical rolling elements. In the NUP design, the bearing has two fixed flanges on the outer ring, one fixed flange on the inner ring and a loose flange disc on the opposite side. This enables the component to guide the shaft in both axial directions. The bearing is manufactured to the standard tolerance class P0/PN or ABEC 1.
This fixed bearing is suitable for bearing arrangements where, in addition to high radial forces, alternating axial guiding forces also occur. Thanks to the single-row arrangement of the rollers, the installation space remains compact, with a width of 31 mm and an outer diameter of 125 mm. The NUP design enables a shaft to be guided axially in both directions without the need for separate axial bearing arrangements.
The design with a slightly increased radial clearance (C3) and a polyamide cage (TVP2) is suitable for operating conditions involving heat build-up or tight fits. The additional radial clearance compensates for thermal expansion during operation, ensuring that the rolling elements do not become stressed. The flexible polyamide window cage guides the cylindrical rollers with low sliding resistance and is designed for a temperature range of -30 to +120 degrees.
With a bore of 70 mm, an outer diameter of 125 mm and a width of 31 mm, the bearing complies with standardised dimensions. The outer ring has a smooth finish and features neither a ring groove nor a lubrication bore. This allows the ring to be fitted flush into suitable housing bores.
NUP-type bearings function as fixed bearings. The outer ring has two fixed guide flanges, whilst the inner ring has a fixed flange on one side and a loose flange disc on the opposite side. This arrangement supports axial forces in both directions and positions the shaft precisely opposite the housing.
The suffix C3 indicates a slightly increased radial clearance compared with standard clearance. This increased clearance between the rollers and raceways is advantageous when tight fits on the shaft and housing cause the inner ring to expand, or when temperature differences arising during operation reduce the internal bearing clearance.
The designation TVP2 refers to a solid window cage made of polyamide. This material is lightweight and elastic, which minimises inertial forces during start-up and deceleration. The cage guides the cylindrical rollers with low sliding resistance, runs quietly and is designed for operating temperatures ranging from -30 to +120 degrees.
As the bearing is manufactured without integrated seals, external housing seals must protect the rolling element system from dirt and moisture. Lubrication is provided via the housing system, either with grease or oil, as the outer ring does not have its own lubrication groove or lubrication bore.
The roller bearing complies with the dimensional and running tolerances of tolerance class P0 (standard tolerance or PN), which corresponds to the ABEC 1 classification in the US. This class covers the standard accuracy requirements in general mechanical engineering.
