FAG NU2322 -E-M1 cylindrical roller bearing (110x240x80 mm): A robust idler bearing with a brass cage, designed for high radial loads in continuous industrial use.
The FAG NU2322 -E-M1 cylindrical roller bearing, as a single-row radial roller bearing, is primarily designed to withstand high radial loads. With a bore of 110 mm, an outer diameter of 240 mm and a width of 80 mm, this robust design is used in heavy-duty industrial drives. The open bearing features a solid brass cage that guides the rollers even under heavy dynamic loads. Manufactured to tolerance class P0/PN or ABEC 1, the component fits precisely into standardised machine designs.
This design is primarily used where only high radial forces are present and changes in shaft length need to be compensated for. As a floating bearing of the NU design, the outer ring has two fixed flanges, whilst the inner ring is flangeless. This allows the shaft and housing to slide axially against one another with minimal resistance during thermal expansion. Typical applications include heavy-duty gearbox construction and industrial plant with high radial loads. The permissible temperature range is from –30 to +150 degrees Celsius.
The designation letter M1 indicates a solid brass cage, which is characterised by high strength. It guides the cylindrical rollers in a vibration-resistant manner and is suitable for demanding conditions involving shock loads or rapid changes in speed. As the bearing is of open design and the outer ring has no groove or lubrication bore, the lubricant is supplied directly via the housing. The standard radial bearing clearance provides a balanced operating clearance for common fit combinations.
As a NU-type thrust bearing, this bearing has two fixed flanges on the outer ring and a flangeless inner ring. The inner ring can be removed from either side, which facilitates the separate assembly of the inner and outer rings. The bearing compensates for axial changes in shaft length directly between the rollers and the inner ring raceway.
The bearing has a bore of 110 mm, an outer diameter of 240 mm and a width of 80 mm. These key dimensions provide a large cross-sectional area for transmitting high radial forces in industrial gearboxes and heavy machinery.
The designation M1 denotes a solid brass cage. A brass cage is characterised by its strength, wear resistance and resistance to vibrations. It guides the rollers reliably under high loads and is particularly suitable for applications involving dynamic loads or rapid changes in speed.
The bearing is designed as an open type without integrated sealing washers. Furthermore, the outer ring has no lubrication groove or lubrication bore. Sealing against dirt and moisture, as well as the supply of grease or lubricating oil, is therefore entirely provided by the surrounding housing structure.
The permissible operating temperature range is between -30 and +150 degrees Celsius. When designing the bearing assembly, care must be taken to ensure that the lubricant used is approved for the relevant operating temperature.
This bearing has a standard radial clearance. This standard clearance is designed for typical fits between the shaft and housing, where no extreme temperature differences between the inner and outer rings are to be expected, ensuring that the operating clearance remains within the specified limits.
