The FAG NU2314 -E-M1 cylindrical roller bearing (70x150x51 mm) functions as a single-row idler bearing with a brass cage, designed for high radial loads in industrial applications.
The FAG NU2314 -E-M1 cylindrical roller bearing is a single-row radial roller bearing designed for demanding mechanical drives. With a bore of 70 mm, an outside diameter of 150 mm and a width of 51 mm, the bearing can withstand high radial forces. Thanks to the solid brass cage, the component guides the cylindrical rollers precisely along the raceway, even under severe vibrations. The open design without seals allows for direct lubrication via the surrounding system within a temperature range of -30 to +150 degrees.
This cylindrical roller bearing is primarily designed to accommodate high radial loads in pure non-locating bearing arrangements. As it is of the NU design, it compensates for axial changes in shaft length directly within the bearing. The inner ring has no flanges and can be removed from either side. This feature prevents axial stress caused by thermal expansion of the shaft. This design is not intended for pure or combined axial forces.
The integrated brass cage gives the bearing high mechanical stability against shock loads and rapid changes in speed. The component is manufactured to tolerance class P0 or ABEC 1 with standard radial clearance. As the design is open, an external housing seal protects the rolling bearing from dirt particles. Furthermore, the selected lubricant should be suitable for the temperature range between –30 and +150 degrees.
With a bore of 70 mm, an outside diameter of 150 mm and a width of 51 mm, this single-row cylindrical roller bearing complies with standardised dimensions. The dimensional and running tolerances comply with tolerance class P0 or ABEC 1 for standard applications in power transmission technology.
In the NU design, the outer ring has two fixed guide flanges, whilst the inner ring is manufactured without flanges. This allows the inner ring to be withdrawn from both sides. This design acts purely as a non-locating bearing, allowing axial movements of the shaft relative to the housing to be compensated for within the bearing without inducing stress.
The brass cage maintains a uniform spacing between the roller elements and withstands severe vibrations and dynamic acceleration forces. The solid cage material is characterised by favourable sliding properties and is suitable for demanding applications involving varying loads.
As the design does not incorporate integrated sealing washers, the lubricant reaches the raceways and rolling elements directly. Lubrication is carried out either with oil or grease via the machine housing. To protect the bearing from dirt and moisture, the installation point requires external housing seals.
This version is designed for operating temperatures between -30 and +150 degrees. As well as the materials used for the bearing rings and the brass cage, the temperature limits of the selected lubricant in the system are the key factor determining thermal resistance.
Standard radial bearing clearance (CN) refers to the factory-set radial clearance between the rollers and raceways when the bearing is not fitted. It is designed for standard shaft and housing fits and ensures low-vibration operation at conventional operating temperatures.
