The FAG NU312 -E-XL-TVP2-C3 cylindrical roller bearing, with a 60 mm bore, withstands high radial loads and compensates for axial length changes without binding.
The NU312 -E-XL-TVP2-C3 cylindrical roller bearing is a single-row radial roller bearing designed for demanding industrial applications. Thanks to the line contact between the rollers and raceways, the design can withstand high radial loads. Designed as a non-locating bearing, the outer ring has two fixed flanges, whilst the inner ring remains flangeless and can be removed from both sides. This separability facilitates assembly and maintenance in mechanical engineering.
This cylindrical roller bearing is primarily used where high radial load capacity combined with a free-end bearing function is required. As the inner ring has no flanges, the bearing compensates for thermally induced changes in shaft length directly within the bearing. It is suitable for applications wherever axial displacement needs to be accommodated without inducing stress. Thanks to its open design without seals, the bearing can be integrated directly into on-site oil or grease lubrication systems.
The designation TVP2 indicates a solid polyamide cage which guides the rollers and promotes low-friction operation. In combination with the slightly increased radial bearing clearance (C3), the radial bearing clearance is maintained even when operational heating or tight fits reduce the clearance. An operating temperature range of -30 to +120 degrees is permitted. The design must include an external housing seal to protect against the ingress of dirt.
The bearing has an inner diameter of 60 mm, an outer diameter of 130 mm and a width of 31 mm. The outer ring is designed without a lubrication groove or lubrication bore, which is why the lubricant should be supplied from the side via the housing design.
The NU design denotes a non-locating bearing with two fixed flanges on the outer ring and a smooth, flangeless inner ring. This enables the bearing to accommodate radial forces and allows for axial displacement of the shaft relative to the housing in both directions. Furthermore, the inner ring can be completely removed for separate installation.
The designation C3 indicates a slightly increased radial bearing clearance compared with the standard version. This increased clearance prevents the bearing from becoming stressed should temperature differences arise between the inner and outer rings, or should tight fits on the shaft and housing reduce the internal clearance after press-fitting.
The TVP2 cage is made of polyamide and is characterised by its low weight and good damping properties. It guides the rolling elements with minimal vibration and contributes to smooth running. The material limits the permissible operating temperature range of the bearing to between -30 and +120 degrees.
As the bearing is manufactured with an open design and without integrated seals, protection against dirt and moisture must be provided by the surrounding housing structure. The bearing can be lubricated flexibly with grease or lubricating oil, depending on the requirements of the design.
The bearing is manufactured to the standard tolerance class P0, which corresponds to the standard tolerance PN or ABEC 1. This tolerance class provides a solid basis for mechanical engineering in terms of dimensional accuracy and cost-effectiveness, and meets the usual industrial requirements for concentricity and fitting accuracy.
