The SKF NUP2311 ECP cylindrical roller bearing, with a 55 mm bore and an outer diameter of 120 mm, offers high radial load-carrying capacity and axial guidance on both sides.
The NUP2311 ECP cylindrical roller bearing is a single-row rolling bearing in the Explorer design with an optimised internal construction. The NUP design features two fixed flanges on the outer ring and a fixed flange with a loose flange disc on the inner ring. As a result, the open bearing can accommodate not only high radial forces but also axial loads from both directions, and serves as a compact fixed bearing for guiding shafts in mechanical assemblies.
This bearing design is primarily used in bearing arrangements where rotating shafts must be precisely fixed axially whilst simultaneously withstanding very high radial loads. Due to the line contact between the rollers and raceways, the roller bearing absorbs considerable radial forces. The integrated polyamide cage dampens vibrations in the system and promotes smooth running even under varying load conditions.
The suffix ECP stands for an optimised internal design in combination with a polyamide cage. This cage design ensures low-friction roller movement and has a low weight. To ensure safe operation, the thermal operating range of -30 to +120 degrees Celsius must be observed. As the roller bearing is of an open design and the outer ring is supplied without a groove or lubrication bore, the housing seal and lubricant supply in the surrounding environment must be suitably designed.
This single-row cylindrical roller bearing combines a high radial load capacity with the function of a fixed bearing. Two fixed flanges on the outer ring and a fixed flange with a loose flange disc on the inner ring enable the shaft to be fixed axially in both directions. The Explorer version features an optimised internal design with low friction.
The bearing has an internal diameter of 55 mm, an external diameter of 120 mm and a width of 43 mm. These standardised dimensions allow for a precise replacement in existing machine designs. Always check the dimensions of the shaft and the housing bore before fitting.
The NUP design guides the shaft in both axial directions, as the flanges on the inner and outer rings are capable of absorbing axial forces. Unlike non-locating bearings of the N or NU designs, this bearing limits axial displacement of the shaft on both sides and ensures precise guidance of the components mounted on the shaft.
The polyamide cage guides the cylindrical rollers with minimal play and reduces operating noise. It operates with low friction and is suitable for operating temperatures ranging from -30 to +120 degrees Celsius. For applications within these temperature limits, this type of cage offers high elasticity under dynamic impact loads.
The NUP2311 ECP cylindrical roller bearing is manufactured with a standard radial clearance, which is designed for conventional mounting fits and moderate operating temperatures. The dimensional accuracy complies with tolerance class P0 (Standard or ABEC 1), whilst the running accuracy is manufactured to class P6 (ABEC 3) for precise concentricity.
As the bearing is supplied without integrated seals and without a lubrication groove in the outer ring, grease or lubricating oil is supplied via the surrounding machine housing. An effective housing seal is required to prevent the ingress of dirt particles and the escape of lubricant.
