The FAG NUP2220 -E-XL-TVP2 cylindrical roller bearing combines high radial load-carrying capacity with axial guidance on both sides, with dimensions of 100 × 180 × 46 mm.
The FAG NUP2220 -E-XL-TVP2 cylindrical roller bearing is a single-row rolling bearing designed for industrial drive trains and gearboxes. Thanks to the line contact of the cylindrical rollers, this bearing design can accommodate high radial loads. With a bore of 100 mm, an outer diameter of 180 mm and a width of 46 mm, the bearing serves as a robust support, particularly in heavier machinery. It is manufactured to tolerance class P0/PN or ABEC 1, without a groove or lubrication bore in the outer ring.
This cylindrical roller bearing is primarily suitable for designs that require not only high radial loads but also guidance in both axial directions. Typical applications include gearboxes and drive systems where precise shaft guidance is required. As this is an open bearing without an integrated seal, the component should be integrated directly into an external lubrication system using oil or grease. In enclosed housings, a customer-supplied seal protects the raceways from dirt and moisture.
The NUP design features two fixed flanges on the outer ring, as well as one fixed flange and one loose flange disc on the inner ring. As a result, the bearing functions as a fully-fledged fixed bearing and guides shafts axially in both directions within the limits of the normal radial bearing clearance. The integrated polyamide cage (TVP2) guides the rolling elements with low vibration and is characterised by its low weight. It is designed for operating temperatures ranging from –30 to +120 degrees and ensures smooth running under industrial operating conditions.
The designation NUP refers to a fixed bearing with two fixed flanges on the outer ring and one fixed flange and one loose flange disc on the inner ring. This design can accommodate high radial loads whilst simultaneously securing the shaft in both axial directions, without the need for separate support bearings.
The bearing has a bore of 100 mm, an outside diameter of 180 mm and a width across flats of 46 mm. These dimensions allow for a precise fit when installed in prepared shaft seats and in housing bores in industrial mechanical engineering.
The suffix TVP2 denotes a polyamide cage. This material reduces the moment of inertia of the rotating components, dampens running noise and resists vibrations during operation. It retains its dimensional stability within the specified temperature range of -30 to +120 degrees.
The bearing is manufactured with standard radial clearance. This standard clearance is suitable for regular mounting fits and moderate temperature differences between the inner and outer rings. It ensures an even load distribution across the cylindrical rollers and prevents unwanted stresses during operation.
As this is an open design without integrated seals, the bearing requires lubrication via the surrounding structure. The rolling bearing can be operated using industrial greases or in an oil bath. An external housing seal protects against lubricant loss and the ingress of foreign particles.
The permissible operating temperature range is between -30 and +120 degrees. This range is essentially limited by the material of the polyamide cage and the thermal properties of the lubricant used. The design retains its dimensional stability when used within this range.
