The FAG NU2224 -E-XL-M1A-C3 cylindrical roller bearing, with dimensions of 120 × 215 × 58 mm, is designed to accommodate high radial loads as a separable loose bearing.
The NU2224 -E-XL-M1A-C3 cylindrical roller bearing is a single-row radial roller bearing from FAG, designed for demanding industrial applications. With a bore of 120 mm, an outer diameter of 215 mm and a width of 58 mm, this design withstands high radial loads. As an open idler bearing, it has no integrated seal. The inner ring can be removed from both sides, which facilitates the separate mounting of the inner and outer rings in housings and on shafts.
This NU2224 -E-XL-M1A-C3 cylindrical roller bearing is primarily suitable for bearing arrangements subject to very high radial loads. In the NU design, the outer ring guides the rollers between two fixed flanges, whilst the flangeless inner ring compensates for axial length changes in the shaft without restriction. As the bearing is designed for operating temperatures ranging from -30 to +150 degrees, it meets the thermal requirements of continuous industrial operation.
The solid brass cage, guided on the outside, guides the rolling elements precisely and withstands high accelerations and vibrations. At the same time, the slightly increased radial clearance (C3) ensures that sufficient operating clearance remains during operation. If operational heating or tight fits reduce the bearing clearance, the C3 design prevents excessive stresses. As the bearing is of open design and the outer ring has no lubrication bore, you can tailor the lubricant supply and the external housing seal directly to your design.
With an internal diameter of 120 mm, an external diameter of 215 mm and a width of 58 mm, the bearing complies with tolerance class P0/PN or ABEC 1. This enables a precise fit when installed in standardised housing bores and on corresponding shaft seats.
As a NU-type free-running bearing, this version features two fixed guide flanges on the outer ring and a flangeless inner ring. The inner ring can be removed from either side, allowing thermal length changes in the shaft during operation to be compensated for axially without constraint within the roller set.
The C3 bearing clearance is characterised by a slightly increased radial bearing clearance compared with the standard version. This additional radial clearance prevents the bearing from becoming stressed should thermal expansion during operation or oversizes in the mounting fits reduce the operating clearance.
With the external guide, the solid brass cage rests directly against the outer ring and guides the rollers precisely, even during acceleration. Brass is a material that withstands vibrations and dynamic stresses in demanding operating conditions.
The lubricant is supplied via the bearing housing by design, as the bearing has neither integrated seals nor lubrication holes in the outer ring. External sealing elements, such as shaft seals or labyrinth seals, protect the interior from contamination and prevent lubricant from escaping.
The permissible operating temperature range is from -30 to +150 degrees. Within these limits, the rings, rollers and the solid brass cage retain their dimensional stability. The lubricant used must also be suitable for this temperature range.
