The FAG NU217 -E-XL-TVP2-C3 cylindrical roller bearing, with an 85 mm bore and C3 clearance, provides a high-load-capacity support for industrial shafts.
The single-row cylindrical roller bearing NU217 -E-XL-TVP2-C3 accommodates high radial forces and compensates for axial length changes in the shaft directly within the bearing. As a free-end bearing of the NU design, this version features two fixed flanges on the outer ring, whilst the inner ring is flangeless and can be removed from either side. This design allows thermal length changes to be accommodated without restriction and facilitates the installation of individual bearing rings.
This cylindrical roller bearing is used in bearing arrangements where only radial loads need to be supported. As the open bearing has no integrated seal, lubrication is provided via the surrounding housing structure using lubricating oil or grease. The permissible temperature range is between –30 and +120 degrees Celsius. This design is particularly suitable for applications where axial displacement between the shaft and housing needs to be compensated for.
The built-in polyamide cage is characterised by its low weight and elastic running properties, which reduce friction and running noise during operation. In combination with the slightly increased radial bearing clearance (C3), sufficient operating clearance is maintained even when the bearing heats up during operation or in the case of tight fits. The bearing complies with tolerance class P0/PN or ABEC 1 and, with its main dimensions of 85 x 150 x 28 mm, meets standard industrial requirements.
This single-row roller bearing from FAG is designed as a support bearing to accommodate high radial forces. Its main dimensions are a bore of 85 mm, an outside diameter of 150 mm and a width of 28 mm. Key features include the inner ring, which can be removed from both sides, the flexible polyamide cage and the extended radial clearance class C3.
The NU design denotes a non-locating bearing whose outer ring has two fixed guide flanges, whilst the inner ring is manufactured without flanges. This allows the inner ring to be displaced axially in both directions and fitted separately. The bearing does not accommodate axial forces, but compensates for changes in the length of the shaft.
The suffix C3 indicates an increased radial bearing clearance compared with the standard version. This increased clearance helps to ensure that the bearing does not become stressed, even when heated during operation or due to fit allowances, and that it rotates smoothly.
The designation TVP2 refers to a solid polyamide cage. This material reduces the weight of the cage compared with metal versions and dampens vibrations. It helps to ensure smooth guidance of the cylindrical rollers and is suitable for operating temperatures ranging from -30 to +120 degrees Celsius.
As an open bearing, this version does not have any factory-fitted sealing washers. Lubrication is provided via the surrounding machine housing, either with grease or lubricating oil. To prevent the ingress of dirt particles and the escape of lubricant, external housing seals such as shaft seals are required.
The cylindrical roller bearing is manufactured to the standard tolerance class P0/PN, which corresponds to the ABEC 1 standard class. This classification defines the permissible dimensional and runout tolerances for the bore, outer diameter and bearing width, and meets the requirements for general mechanical and plant engineering.
