FAG NU319 -E-XL-M1-C3 cylindrical roller bearing: A single-row non-locating bearing with a brass cage, measuring 95 x 200 x 45 mm, designed for demanding radial loads.
The FAG NU319 -E-XL-M1-C3 cylindrical roller bearing is an open, single-row roller bearing designed to accommodate high radial forces in industrial applications. With a bore of 95 mm, an outer diameter of 200 mm and a width of 45 mm, this roller bearing provides stable guidance for heavy shafts. The NU design functions as a pure idler bearing, in which the inner ring can be removed from both sides. This simplifies both installation and the compensation for thermal length changes.
This non-locating bearing is primarily used where high radial forces are present and axial displacements of the shaft relative to the housing must be compensated for without causing stress. Typical applications can be found in general mechanical engineering and in mechanical drives subject to purely radial loads. Thanks to its solid brass cage, the bearing is well suited to environments with strong oscillations, vibrations or rapid changes in rotational speed. As the outer ring has no groove or lubrication bore, the lubricant is supplied via the surrounding housing design.
The combination of the robust brass cage (M1) and the slightly increased radial bearing clearance (C3) enhances the operational flexibility of this rolling bearing. The brass cage guides the cylindrical rollers securely and retains its dimensional stability even under dynamic loads. The increased C3 bearing clearance serves to compensate for fit allowances and temperature differences between the inner and outer rings without the bearing becoming stressed during operation. With a permissible temperature range of -30 to +150 degrees, the bearing is suitable for thermally demanding operating conditions.
The bearing has an inside diameter of 95 mm, an outside diameter of 200 mm and a width across flats of 45 mm. It is manufactured to the standard tolerance class P0/PN or ABEC 1. These key dimensions determine the design of the corresponding shaft and housing seats in mechanical engineering.
In the NU design, the outer ring has two fixed flanges, whilst the inner ring is flangeless and can be removed from both sides. As a result, the bearing accommodates radial forces only and allows for axial longitudinal displacement of the shaft within the bearing. This characteristic defines the component as a classic non-locating bearing for the design.
The designation C3 indicates a slightly increased radial clearance compared with standard bearing clearance. This additional bearing clearance prevents the rolling elements from jamming when tight fits or temperature differences between the shaft and housing reduce the internal operating clearance during operation.
The permissible operating temperature range is from -30 to +150 degrees. As this is an open bearing without integrated seals, the actual operating limit depends largely on the lubricant selected and the sealing measures incorporated into the surrounding housing structure.
The solid brass cage, designated by the code M1, offers high strength and low wear. Compared with standard cages, it is better suited to operating conditions involving severe vibrations, shocks or high acceleration forces, as are frequently encountered in demanding industrial drives.
As the bearing is manufactured without seals and without a lubrication bore in the outer ring, lubrication must be carried out externally. You can operate the rolling bearing either with grease or via an oil circuit, in which case the housing must ensure that the lubricant is retained.
