The FAG NU2215 -E-XL-TVP2 cylindrical roller bearing, as an open idler bearing with dimensions of 75 × 130 × 31 mm, withstands high radial loads.
The NU2215 -E-XL-TVP2 cylindrical roller bearing is designed to support rotating shafts under predominantly radial loads. This single-row roller bearing has a bore of 75 mm, an outer diameter of 130 mm and a width of 31 mm. The NU design, featuring a removable inner ring, allows for flexible installation of the bearing. The open design with standard radial clearance is rated for operating temperatures from -30 to +120 degrees.
The NU2215 -E-XL-TVP2 cylindrical roller bearing is particularly suitable for bearing arrangements subject to high radial forces, where thermal length changes in the shaft need to be compensated for. As the inner ring can be removed from both sides, the design functions purely as a non-locating bearing without axial guidance. It is used in rotating systems with axially movable shaft sections. As the outer ring has no groove or lubrication bore, the lubricant is supplied via the surrounding structure.
The designation TVP2 stands for a solid polyamide cage which guides the cylindrical rollers and ensures quiet operation. Together with tolerance class P0, the NU2215 -E-XL-TVP2 cylindrical roller bearing complies with the standard in mechanical engineering. As this is an open bearing, the bearing housing requires protection against dirt and a suitable housing seal. The standard bearing clearance is suitable for standard shaft and housing seats.
This cylindrical roller bearing has a bore of 75 mm, an outer diameter of 130 mm and a width across flats of 31 mm. These dimensions comply with the standard specifications for this size. During assembly, care must be taken to ensure that both rings fit precisely onto the shaft and into the housing.
The NU design denotes a non-locating bearing in which the outer ring has two fixed flanges, whilst the inner ring is manufactured without flanges. This allows the inner ring to be removed axially from both sides. This feature allows for free longitudinal compensation of shafts due to temperature-induced expansion and facilitates the separate installation of both bearing rings.
The specified operating range is between -30 and +120 degrees. This operating range is largely determined by the material of the polyamide cage. To ensure proper operation within this temperature range, a lubricant must be selected that is suited to the prevailing operating temperature and the applied load.
The suffix TVP2 denotes a window cage made of polyamide. This material ensures low inertial forces and dampens vibrations during operation. Furthermore, the cage maintains a uniform spacing between the cylindrical rollers, reduces friction and ensures smooth shaft rotation.
As an open cylindrical roller bearing, this design does not incorporate any built-in sealing elements. This enables the unimpeded exchange of lubricant in the case of oil or grease lubrication and allows for relubrication whilst the bearing is in operation. To prevent the ingress of particles and moisture, the housing environment requires external seals.
The normal radial bearing clearance refers to the standard clearance between the cylindrical rollers and the raceways as supplied. Once the inner and outer rings have been pressed into place, this clearance is reduced to the desired operating clearance. This tolerance is sufficient for conventional applications with standard fits where there are no extreme temperature differences between the shaft and the housing.
