The FAG NU215 -E-XL-TVP2 cylindrical roller bearing is a single-row idler bearing measuring 75 x 130 x 25 mm, designed for purely radial loads.
The NU215 -E-XL-TVP2 cylindrical roller bearing is an open roller bearing manufactured by FAG for industrial applications involving radial forces. This version has a bore of 75 mm, an outer diameter of 130 mm and a width of 25 mm. Thanks to the line contact between the rolling elements and the raceways, the design can accommodate high radial loads. The inner ring is flangeless and can be removed from both sides, allowing for the separate assembly of both rings.
This cylindrical roller bearing is used in bearing arrangements where high radial forces act and axial length changes in the shaft must be compensated for without restriction. As the outer ring has fixed flanges and the inner ring remains freely movable, the component functions as a conventional floating bearing. The roller bearing accommodates thermal linear expansion of the shaft directly within the bearing, ensuring that no axial stresses arise in the system.
The NU design allows the inner and outer rings to be mounted separately onto the shaft and housing. The integrated polyamide cage guides the cylindrical rolling elements, which have a low mass, ensuring quiet operation. With tolerance class P0/PN (ABEC 1) and standard radial clearance, this design meets standardised precision requirements. As the bearing is designed as an open type without sealing washers, lubrication is supplied from the bearing environment.
The bore is 75 mm, the outer diameter is 130 mm and the width is 25 mm. These standardised key dimensions enable a precise fit when installed in housing bores and on shafts designed for this series of cylindrical roller bearings.
In the NU design, the outer ring has two fixed guide flanges, whilst the inner ring is manufactured without flanges. This allows the inner ring to be pulled out axially from both sides. The bearing serves purely as a non-locating bearing and accommodates only radial forces, but no axial forces.
The permissible operating temperature range is between -30 °C and +120 °C. Within these limits, the components made of roller bearing steel and the polyamide cage retain their mechanical stability. For actual use, the temperature resistance of the selected lubricant must also be taken into account.
A polyamide cage guides the cylindrical rolling elements, which are lightweight, and is characterised by its elastic material properties. The design contributes to smooth running and is suitable for operating temperatures of up to +120 °C.
As the bearing is supplied by the manufacturer without either cover plates or sealing washers, and as the outer ring has no lubrication groove, sealing is provided by the surrounding structure. Depending on the application, lubrication can be provided by oil or a suitable grease filling in the housing.
The bearings are manufactured to the standard tolerance class P0/PN or ABEC 1, with standard radial clearance. This classification defines the standardised dimensional and running tolerances for conventional applications in mechanical engineering.
