FAG single-row cylindrical roller bearing NJ2310 -E-XL-TVP2-C3 with a 50 mm bore, polyamide cage and increased C3 clearance for high radial loads and single-sided axial support.
The FAG NJ2310 -E-XL-TVP2-C3 cylindrical roller bearing is an open, single-row rolling bearing with main dimensions of 50 x 110 x 40 mm. It accommodates high radial forces and, thanks to its design featuring two flanges on the outer ring and one flange on the inner ring, serves as a support bearing. Consequently, the design guides a shaft in an axial direction, whilst the inner ring remains removable from one side for installation. The lightweight polyamide cage guides the cylindrical rollers precisely and quietly.
This bearing is particularly suitable for applications where high radial forces and additional one-sided axial loads occur. As the outer ring has fixed guide flanges and the inner ring abuts against the flange, the component accommodates axial displacement in the opposite direction without constraint. Designs involving thermal length changes in the shaft benefit from this axial displacement capacity. Furthermore, the open design allows for flexible integration into existing lubrication systems using oil or grease.
The combination of the support bearing design and increased radial clearance (C3) is advantageous when temperature differences arise between the shaft and the housing during operation. C3 offers greater operational flexibility than standard clearance, ensuring that the bearing does not become stressed due to thermal expansion or tight fits. The polyamide cage (TVP2) reduces the moment of inertia and performs reliably at operating temperatures between –30 and +120 degrees. When selecting a bearing, please note the tolerance class P0/PN or ABEC 1, as well as the requirement for external seals.
With an internal diameter of 50 mm, an external diameter of 110 mm and a width of 40 mm, the bearing has standardised main dimensions for a stable cross-section. It is manufactured to tolerance class P0/PN or ABEC 1, without a lubrication groove or bores in the outer ring.
In the NJ design, the bearing has two fixed flanges on the outer ring and one flange on the inner ring, enabling it to function as a support bearing. It accommodates radial loads as well as axial forces in one direction. In the opposite direction, the removable inner ring allows for longitudinal compensation of the shaft within the housing.
Bearing clearance class C3 provides a slightly greater radial bearing clearance than the standard range. This additional radial clearance helps to prevent the rolling elements from seizing if the inner ring and shaft become hotter than the outer ring during operation. Furthermore, the clearance compensates for any constrictions caused by tight-fit seats.
The suffix TVP2 denotes a polyamide cage with a low weight and good damping properties. This material ensures quiet operation of the roller bearing and guides the rollers reliably. The cage is designed for use at operating temperatures ranging from -30 to +120 degrees.
As it has no integrated seals, the open design allows for direct lubrication via the system’s lubrication circuit or for application-specific grease filling during assembly. Protection against dirt particles and moisture must be provided by means of external seals fitted to the housing in order to protect the bearing.
The bearing is specified for use within a temperature range of -30 to +120 degrees. This range is determined primarily by the temperature resistance of the polyamide cage. To ensure safe operation, the selected lubricant must also be approved for the respective operating temperature within these limits.
