FAG NU2313 -E-XL-TVP2-C3 cylindrical roller bearing, dimensions 65x140x48 mm: a single-row non-locating bearing with a polyamide cage and increased C3 clearance for demanding radial loads.
The FAG NU2313 -E-XL-TVP2-C3 cylindrical roller bearing is designed as a single-row radial bearing for applications in which purely radial forces act on the shaft. As a NU-type idler bearing, the component has two fixed flanges on the outer ring, whilst the inner ring is flangeless. This allows the inner ring to be removed from both sides, which facilitates the separate assembly of both bearing rings. With key dimensions of a 65 mm bore, 140 mm outer diameter and 48 mm width, this open bearing complies with tolerance class P0/PN or ABEC 1.
This bearing is primarily used in bearing arrangements that must freely compensate for thermally induced length changes in the rotating shaft. As the cylindrical rollers make line contact with the raceways, this design can accommodate high radial forces. As the bearing is manufactured without a housing, lubrication is provided by the surrounding machine housing. The application range includes shaft mountings in mechanical engineering subject to purely radial loads and requiring axial displacement.
The polyamide material gives the cage elastic properties and reduces its weight compared with metal versions, which contributes to smooth running. The permissible temperature range is between –30 and +120 degrees Celsius. The increased radial clearance of class C3 serves to prevent the rolling elements from becoming jammed when significant temperature differences occur between the inner and outer rings during operation, or when tight fits on the shaft and housing reduce the radial operating clearance.
The NU design features two fixed guide flanges on the outer ring, whilst the inner ring has no flanges. This allows the inner ring to be moved axially in both directions and removed completely. The bearing thus functions purely as a non-locating bearing, compensating for changes in the shaft’s length.
The bearing has an internal diameter of 65 mm, an external diameter of 140 mm and a width of 48 mm. These dimensions comply with current standards and fall within the standard tolerance class P0/PN (ABEC 1).
The abbreviation TVP2 refers to a polyamide cage that is guided on the rolling elements. This type of cage is characterised by low inertial forces and good damping. It is designed for operating temperatures ranging from -30 to +120 degrees Celsius.
The designation C3 indicates an increased radial clearance compared with the standard clearance. It is selected when tight fits on the shaft or housing cause the inner ring to expand or the outer ring to contract. Even where there are significant temperature differences between the rotating shaft and the housing, the C3 bearing clearance prevents undesirable preload.
The open bearing has no integrated seals or cover plates as delivered from the factory and has neither a lubrication groove nor a bore on the outer ring. Grease or oil is supplied via the surrounding housing structure, which also prevents the ingress of contaminants.
