The FAG 20304-TVP spherical roller bearing (20x52x15 mm) withstands high radial loads and compensates for misalignment with angular flexibility and low noise.
The FAG 20304 -TVP barrel bearing is a single-row roller bearing with barrel-shaped rolling elements and a hollow-spherical outer ring raceway. This design automatically compensates for angular misalignment between the shaft and housing. With a 20 mm bore, 52 mm outer diameter and 15 mm width, the component fits precisely into standardised bearing seats. As an open design, the roller bearing can be flexibly integrated into existing lubrication systems.
Designs subject to predominantly radial forces and shaft deflection benefit from this design. The crowned rolling elements distribute the load evenly across the raceway in the outer ring. The bearing compensates for misalignment through angular adjustment, thereby preventing harmful edge stresses at the ends of the rollers. The single-row design is particularly suitable for demanding bearing locations in general mechanical engineering.
The suffix TVP stands for a dimensionally stable, solid polyamide cage. This material reduces the frictional torque in the rolling element set and minimises noise during operation. The component is designed for a temperature range of -30 to +120 degrees. Thanks to the standard radial bearing clearance and tolerance class P0/PN, the bearing assembly offers reliable concentricity for standardised shaft fits.
Single-row spherical roller bearings have a spherical outer ring raceway in which the spherical rollers can move freely. This enables the bearing to automatically compensate for misalignment and shaft deflection during operation without generating additional edge pressures. It combines a compact design with a high load-carrying capacity under purely radial loads.
This roller bearing has an inner diameter of 20 mm, an outer diameter of 52 mm and a width of 15 mm. These dimensions allow for a precise fit in standardised cylindrical bearing seats for industrial applications.
The polyamide cage is characterised by its low weight and damping properties. As a result, this design contributes to smooth running. Furthermore, the material reduces friction on the rolling elements within the permissible temperature range.
The bearing has a standard radial clearance, also known as standard clearance CN. It is manufactured to tolerance class P0/PN (corresponding to ABEC 1). This classification ensures a defined level of dimensional accuracy for standard applications with typical shaft and housing tolerances.
The permissible operating range is between -30 and +120 degrees. This range is primarily limited by the TVP polyamide cage, which retains its mechanical strength within these limits. This temperature range should also be taken into account when selecting the lubricant.
As this model does not have integrated sealing washers, the lubricant reaches the raceways directly. However, the bearing assembly must be protected against dirt and moisture by external seals in the housing. Furthermore, the bearing requires initial lubrication before commissioning.
