The SKF 53213 single-direction axial deep groove ball bearing accommodates purely axial loads and has compact main dimensions of 65 x 100 x 28.7 mm.
The 53213 axial deep-groove ball bearing is a separable rolling bearing designed to accommodate axial forces from a single direction. Manufactured from standard 100Cr6 rolling bearing steel, the components possess the necessary dimensional stability for industrial applications. A guided sheet steel cage maintains the rolling elements at a uniform distance. With a shaft diameter of 65 mm and an outside diameter of 100 mm, this design is suitable for assemblies in which no radial forces act on the axial bearing.
This bearing is used for the axial guidance of shafts on which thrust forces act exclusively in one direction. Typical applications include vertical or horizontal shaft mountings subject to thrust loads on one side only. As the rolling elements are designed exclusively for axial loads, no radial load must be applied. Design engineers therefore usually combine this thrust bearing with separate radial bearings on the same shaft.
The spherical housing washer of type 53213 enables the compensation of static misalignment errors as soon as you fit the bearing with a suitable washer. This washer is not included with the bearing and must be supplied separately. Without such a washer, the bearing offers no angular adjustability. Furthermore, the bearing complies with tolerance class P0 (ABEC 1) and is designed for operating temperatures ranging from -30 to +150 degrees.
With a bore of 65 mm, an outer diameter of 100 mm and a height of 28.7 mm, the bearing complies with standardised mounting dimensions. These dimensions allow for specific mounting on 65 mm shafts in assemblies where high unilateral axial forces need to be supported.
This single-direction design absorbs axial forces from one direction only and supports the shaft on one side. Due to its design, the bearing cannot absorb radial forces. In practice, it is therefore used in conjunction with suitable radial bearings.
The housing washer has a spherical outer surface. When used in conjunction with a separately fitted concave spherical washer, the assembly can align itself within the housing. This allows for the compensation of misalignments between the shaft and the housing bore caused by manufacturing or assembly.
The integrated rolling element set is held together by a sheet steel cage. This component guides the balls evenly along the raceways, is lightweight and covers the entire specified temperature range of the rolling bearing.
Manufactured from 100Cr6 rolling bearing steel, the thrust bearing is designed for ambient temperatures between -30 and +150 degrees. Within this range, the material retains its dimensional stability. When selecting a lubricant, care must be taken to ensure that the lubricant used covers the same temperature range.
The bearing complies with tolerance class P0 (also known as standard tolerance or ABEC 1). It therefore meets the standard accuracy requirements for dimensional and running precision in mechanical engineering and is suitable for standardised fits on shafts and housings.
