The FAG 53314 axial deep-groove ball bearing, with dimensions of 70 × 125 × 44.2 mm, supports shafts subjected to axial loads acting from one side.
The FAG 53314 axial deep-groove ball bearing is designed to accommodate pure axial forces in one direction. With a bore of 70 mm, an outside diameter of 125 mm and a width of 44.2 mm, this rolling bearing provides axial support for rotating components. Due to its design, this bearing type must not be used to support radial forces. The integrated sheet steel cage maintains an even spacing between the balls. Manufactured from standard roller bearing steel 100Cr6, the bearing is suitable for use in a temperature range from -30 to +150 degrees.
Design engineers and maintenance technicians primarily use this single-acting rolling bearing in assemblies where high axial forces along the shaft axis need to be absorbed. Typical applications include vertical shaft mountings and assemblies with axial forces acting in one direction. As axial deep-groove ball bearings, by their very design, cannot transmit radial forces, they usually operate in parallel with separate radial bearings within the system. The 53314 bearing supports the shaft in one direction and keeps guide surfaces stable in position.
This component features a spherical housing washer and, when used in conjunction with a suitable shim, allows for angular adjustment. The shim is not included with this item and must be selected separately if required. This combination specifically compensates for misalignment and static skew between the shaft and the housing bore. When fitting, ensure that the mating surfaces are clean so that the housing washer makes full contact. Manufactured to tolerance class P0, it offers standardised mounting dimensions in mechanical engineering.
With a bore of 70 mm, an external diameter of 125 mm and a height of 44.2 mm, the bearing complies with standardised mounting dimensions for shafts and housing bores in mechanical engineering. Before installation, check the available installation space and the design of the shaft shoulder to ensure that the shaft collar sits flush.
As a single-direction design, the bearing supports axial forces from one direction only and guides the shaft axially in one direction. If alternating or double-acting axial forces occur during operation, double-acting bearings are required. The bearing must not absorb radial forces; an additional radial bearing must be fitted on the same shaft for this purpose.
The housing washer has a spherical contact surface. If a separate, hollow-spherical washer is added to the bearing, the two surfaces can slide relative to one another. This mobility compensates for manufacturing-related misalignments or slight angular misalignments between the housing and the shaft. As a result, the contact forces are distributed evenly across the rolling elements, which counteracts uneven edge wear.
The scope of supply comprises only the axial deep-groove ball bearing itself, consisting of a shaft washer, a housing washer and a ball-guided sheet steel cage. The spherical washer is not included. If the bearing is to compensate for misalignment, please order the appropriate washer separately. Where the housing mounting surfaces are flat and do not provide any compensation, the bearing can be operated without a shim washer.
The permissible operating range for this component is between -30 and +150 degrees Celsius. The bearing washers, made from 100Cr6 rolling-bearing steel, and the sheet steel cage retain their dimensional stability within this range. When selecting the grease or oil, operating temperatures must be taken into account, as the lubricant used helps to determine the actual thermal operating range during continuous operation.
With the standard tolerance P0 (corresponding to PN or ABEC 1), this version defines standardised limit dimensions and concentricity tolerances for industrial applications. It enables straightforward replacement during maintenance work and ensures a defined fit on standard shafts with conventional fit seats.
