The FAG 53206 axial deep-groove ball bearing supports shafts with a 30 mm bore under purely axial loads and compensates for misalignment using a shim.
The FAG 53206 axial deep-groove ball bearing accommodates high axial forces from one direction. Manufactured from standard roller bearing steel (100Cr6) with a sheet steel cage, this bearing design is rated for operating temperatures ranging from –30 to +150 degrees. With dimensions of a 30 mm bore, 52 mm outer diameter and 17.8 mm height, this rolling bearing provides reliable axial guidance for rotating shafts. It is manufactured to tolerance class P0/PN or ABEC 1.
Designed as a single-direction bearing, it is intended for purely axial loads. The unit cannot transmit radial forces, which is why the shaft is supported radially by a separate bearing. Common applications include bearing arrangements subject to axial forces acting in one direction, where defined compressive forces must be absorbed. The separable design facilitates installation, as the shaft washer, housing washer and ball-guided cage can be fitted one after the other.
This model features a spherical housing washer and, when used in conjunction with a shim, is angle-adjustable. If manufacturing-related misalignments or skewing occur between the housing seat and the shaft, this combination compensates for the deviations. The scope of supply includes only the axial deep-groove ball bearing without a shim; the appropriate shim must be provided separately to allow for angular adjustment.
This axial bearing has an internal bore of 30 mm, an external diameter of 52 mm and a height of 17.8 mm. Thanks to these standardised dimensions, the roller bearing can be fitted precisely into housing bores and onto solid shafts to maintain defined axial positions.
No, axial deep-groove ball bearings of this type are designed exclusively to accommodate axial forces acting in a single direction. Radial loads must not act on the bearing rings. If combined load support is required, combine this component with a separate radial bearing on the shaft.
The P0 or ABEC 1 classification denotes the standard tolerance class for industrial roller bearings. It defines mandatory limit dimensions for the dimensional and running accuracy of the rings. For most applications in mechanical engineering, this design offers proven fitting accuracy combined with cost-effective interchangeability.
The bearing is designed for operating temperatures ranging from -30 to +150 degrees. The dimensional stability of the components made from hardened 100Cr6 rolling-bearing steel and the sheet steel cage is maintained within this range. Ensure that the lubricant used is suitable for this temperature range to prevent wear.
The scope of delivery is limited to the actual axial deep-groove ball bearing with a spherical housing washer. In housings with a precisely right-angled mounting surface, a shim is not strictly necessary. If misalignment or angular errors need to be compensated for, supplement the bearing arrangement with a spherical shim, available separately.
FAG fits this bearing with a cage made of profiled sheet steel. It guides the rolling elements precisely within the raceways and maintains a uniform spacing between them. Sheet steel cages can withstand operating temperatures of up to +150 degrees and are chemically inert when in contact with mineral lubricating oils and standard greases.
