The SKF 52306 double-acting axial deep groove ball bearing reliably supports shafts with a 25 mm bore, 60 mm outer diameter and 38 mm width in both axial directions.
The 52306 axial deep-groove ball bearing supports shafts against axial loads from alternating directions. SKF manufactures this rolling bearing from 100Cr6 bearing steel and fits it with a sheet steel cage. The design complies with standard tolerance P0 or ABEC 1. With a width of 38 mm, the assembly is used for shaft guidance in bearing systems where no significant radial forces act on the axial bearing.
This design is used when a shaft needs to be guided in both axial directions. It is particularly suitable for use in bearing arrangements subject to axial thrust on both sides. As the bearing absorbs axial forces only, designers typically combine it in practice with separate radial bearings. The permissible temperature range of -30 to +150 degrees covers continuous industrial operation.
This rolling bearing is not angle-adjustable and is designed without shims. The contact surfaces on the housing and on the shaft must therefore be machined at right angles to the axis of rotation. Otherwise, misalignment or deflection will lead to localised edge stresses, which adversely affect the load-bearing capacity of the rolling elements. During assembly, clean interference fits and uniform axial alignment of the centre shaft washer are essential.
The bearing accommodates only pure axial forces, but these may act from either direction. The axial bearing must not be subjected to radial loads. For radial support applications, an additional radial bearing must be included in the bearing arrangement to protect the rolling elements from excessive transverse forces.
The bore is 25 mm, the outer diameter is 60 mm and the overall width is 38 mm. These dimensions define the space required within the housing and determine the appropriate shaft diameter for the fixed centre disc of the double-acting design.
No, this design is not angle-adjustable and does not contain any spherical washers. This bearing cannot compensate for misalignment or shaft deflection caused during installation. It is essential that the mating surfaces on the shaft and housing are machined to form a precise right angle.
The permissible temperature range is from -30 to +150 degrees. Both the 100Cr6 roller bearing steel and the integrated sheet steel cage retain their dimensional stability within this temperature range. The temperature resistance of the selected lubricant is also a decisive factor in determining the actual operating limit.
The bearing complies with standard tolerance class P0, which is also referred to internationally as standard tolerance PN or ABEC 1. This manufacturing accuracy fully meets the requirements of most applications in general mechanical engineering and gearbox construction.
