The SKF 51315 axial deep-groove ball bearing is suitable for shafts with a 75 mm bore and accommodates axial loads on one side.
The 51315 axial deep-groove ball bearing is a standardised rolling bearing designed for purely axial loads. The component has an inside diameter of 75 mm, an outside diameter of 135 mm and a height of 44 mm. Manufactured from standard rolling bearing steel (100Cr6), the sheet steel cage guides the rolling elements in an orderly manner within the raceways. The open design is rated for a temperature range of -30 to +150 degrees.
This rolling bearing is used where axial loads parallel to the shaft axis must be supported in one direction. Typical applications are found in general industrial and mechanical engineering in bearing arrangements subject to unilateral thrust loads. As this bearing acts purely on one side, it supports rotating shafts specifically on one side. Due to its design, this type of bearing cannot accommodate radial forces and requires a separate radial support where necessary.
The single-sided axial bearing is not angularly adjustable and does not compensate for misalignment between the shaft and the housing axis. To ensure smooth running, the contact surfaces must be flat and perpendicular to the axis of rotation. The bearing is fitted without additional shims. Thanks to the standardised tolerance class P0/PN (corresponding to ABEC 1), the bearing meets the usual dimensional and running tolerances for shaft fits in mechanical engineering.
The component is designed as a single-acting axial bearing. It accommodates only axial forces acting in a defined direction along the shaft axis. This design is not suitable for radial loads, which is why designers usually incorporate separate radial bearings to guide the shaft.
The shaft washer has a bore of 75 mm. The outer diameter of the housing washer is 135 mm, whilst the overall height is 44 mm. These dimensions correspond to the standardised dimensions of the metric axial series 513.
Bearing washers and rolling elements are made from conventional standard roller bearing steel (100Cr6). This through-hardened material offers high fatigue strength. The design is complemented by a robust sheet steel cage, which maintains an even spacing between the balls.
The roller bearing can be operated within a temperature range of -30 to +150 degrees. Within this range, the bearing rings and cage retain their dimensional stability. When commissioning the bearing, ensure that the lubricant used is approved for the relevant operating temperature.
No, this version is not angle-adjustable and has flat disc supports. It cannot compensate for misalignment or shaft deflection. The mounting surfaces on the shaft and housing must therefore be precisely aligned at right angles to one another in order to prevent the belt from running on the edges at specific points.
The model is manufactured to tolerance class P0/PN, which corresponds to the ABEC 1 classification in the US. It therefore offers the standard accuracy required in general mechanical engineering with regard to running and dimensional tolerances.
