The FAG 53230 -MP axial deep-groove ball bearing accommodates single-acting axial forces for shaft diameters of 150 mm.
The 53230 -MP axial deep-groove ball bearing is a separable rolling bearing made from standard bearing steel (100Cr6). The design comprises a shaft ring, a spherical housing ring and the guided ball set. With key dimensions of a 150 mm bore, a 225 mm outer diameter and a height of 60 mm, this design is suitable for heavy-duty assemblies in mechanical engineering. Thanks to its open design, the bearing can be integrated directly into the system’s lubrication supply.
This rolling bearing accommodates axial loads from one direction only and provides axial support for rotating shafts. Due to its design, this type of bearing cannot transmit radial forces. It is used in bearing arrangements subject to high unilateral axial forces, where no radial loads are transmitted via the axial bearing. The tolerance class P0/PN (corresponding to ABEC 1) complies with the specifications for general mechanical engineering.
The spherical housing washer of the 532 series enables misalignment to be compensated for when the bearing is combined with a suitable spherical washer. This washer is not included with this item. Where the housing surfaces are rigid and precisely at right angles, the washer can also be fitted without an additional element. In the event of housing misalignment, the spherical surface mechanically compensates for angular errors between the shaft and the connecting structure.
The suffix -MP denotes a solid brass cage. This cage guides the rolling elements during mechanical vibrations and under acceleration forces. Together with the washers made from roller bearing steel, the assembly covers an operating temperature range of –30 to +150 degrees. During assembly, clean mounting surfaces and centred force transmission are required.
The bearing has an inner diameter of 150 mm, an outer diameter of 225 mm and a total width of 60 mm. These dimensions correspond to the standardised main dimensions for axial deep-groove ball bearings of this size.
As a single-direction axial bearing, this product accommodates axial forces from one direction only. It is used for the axial guidance of shafts. This design is unsuitable for radial loads; separate radial bearings must be fitted to the shaft for this purpose.
The symbol denotes a solid brass cage. Solid brass cages are characterised by their mechanical stability and dimensional stability, and ensure that the rolling elements remain securely guided in the raceway even in the event of vibrations or fluctuating speeds.
The bearing has a spherical housing washer and, when used in conjunction with a separately available shim, can be adjusted for angular misalignment. This allows any misalignment between the shaft and the housing caused by manufacturing or assembly to be compensated for. The shim is not included in the scope of delivery.
The bearing is designed for operating temperatures ranging from -30 to +150 degrees Celsius. The actual usable temperature range within the system also depends on the properties and lubrication limits of the selected lubricant.
The component is manufactured to standard tolerances, designated as tolerance class P0/PN or ABEC 1. This version meets the standard requirements for running accuracy and dimensional stability in conventional mechanical and plant engineering.
