The SKF 51115 axial deep groove ball bearing accommodates unilateral axial forces and is specifically designed to support shaft components measuring 75x100x19 mm.
The SKF 51115 axial deep groove ball bearing is designed for pure axial loads in one direction. With an inside diameter of 75 mm, an outside diameter of 100 mm and a height of 19 mm, this design supports rotating shaft components against axial thrust forces. Manufactured from standard rolling bearing steel (100Cr6) with a robust sheet steel cage, the bearing is suitable for industrial assemblies with coplanar contact surfaces. It is manufactured to tolerance class P0/PN or ABEC 1.
This single-direction thrust bearing supports shafts subjected to axial forces acting constantly from a single direction. This design is suitable for shaft mountings where purely axial thrust forces need to be absorbed. As the bearing is not angularly adjustable, the design requires mounting surfaces machined at right angles to the axis of rotation. This design cannot accommodate radial forces, which is why the shaft must be guided radially by a separate component.
Model 51115 is fitted without a separate shim, which makes it essential that the housing surfaces are flat and dimensionally stable. Misalignment between the shaft axis and the housing bore will quickly lead to uneven load distribution across the rolling elements. When fitting, ensure that the shaft washer and housing washer are kept clearly separate, as their internal diameters differ slightly. The combination of a sheet steel cage and roller bearing steel also allows for operating temperatures ranging from -30 to +150 degrees.
This bearing consists of a shaft washer, a housing washer and a guided ball set in a sheet steel cage. With dimensions of 75 mm bore, 100 mm outer diameter and 19 mm width, it accommodates single-sided axial forces. Due to the flat disc design, it does not compensate for misalignment and cannot withstand radial loads.
The cage, made of pressed sheet steel, keeps the balls at a uniform distance apart and prevents them from coming into contact with one another. This reduces friction and noise during operation. Furthermore, the sheet steel cage ensures stable operation across the permissible temperature range of -30 to +150 degrees.
No, this design is intended solely to absorb axial compressive forces parallel to the shaft axis. Radial forces acting perpendicular to the axis would cause the raceways and balls to tilt, thereby damaging the component. For this reason, mechanical engineers always support the shaft with a suitable radial bearing as well.
This classification defines the standard accuracy for dimensional and running characteristics in industrial rolling bearings. Classification into tolerance class P0/PN or ABEC 1 is sufficient to meet standard requirements in mechanical engineering. Dimensions and running characteristics fall within the specified standard limits.
Both discs have slightly different bore dimensions. The shaft disc has a narrower bore of 75 mm and fits tightly directly onto the shaft. The housing disc, on the other hand, has a slightly larger bore so that it does not come into contact with the rotating shaft and lies flush against the housing shoulder.
The bearing, made from standard roller bearing steel (100Cr6) with a sheet steel cage, is designed for operating temperatures between -30 and +150 degrees. However, the choice of lubricant remains crucial for the actual conditions of use on site. Lubricating greases or oils must also be approved for these thermal conditions.
