The FAG 51207 axial deep-groove ball bearing reliably withstands axial forces in one direction, with main dimensions of 35 × 62 × 18 mm.
This single-acting axial deep-groove ball bearing 51207 from FAG supports axial loads in a specified direction. Manufactured from standard roller bearing steel (100Cr6), this separable assembly consists of a shaft ring, a housing ring and the guided ball set. Due to its design, this construction cannot accommodate radial forces. The scope of supply includes the axial deep-groove ball bearing without additional shims for flat mounting surfaces.
The bearing is designed to accommodate purely one-sided axial forces in machines and units. As this version is not angle-adjustable, trouble-free operation requires contact surfaces that are aligned exactly at right angles to the shaft axis. Misalignment or tilting between the shaft and housing leads to uneven load distribution and places stress on the raceways of the bearing rings. Additional radial bearings must be provided in the bearing arrangement to accommodate any radial forces that may occur.
During assembly, care must be taken to ensure the two rings are fitted in the correct orientation. The shaft ring has the smaller bore of 35 mm and rotates with the shaft, whilst the housing ring, with an outer diameter of 62 mm, sits firmly against the housing. The integrated sheet steel cage guides the balls evenly within a temperature range of -30 to +150 degrees. The bearing complies with tolerance classes P0/PN or ABEC 1 for standard fits.
The main dimensions are a bore diameter of 35 mm, an external diameter of 62 mm and a height of 18 mm. When fitting, it is essential to distinguish between the two washers: the shaft washer is positioned on the shaft, whilst the housing washer rests against the housing with some clearance from the shaft.
Due to its design, this single-acting component absorbs only axial forces from one direction and supports the shaft against the housing. To accommodate radial forces, the bearing arrangement must be supplemented with separate radial bearings, as axial bearings do not provide radial support.
No, this version is not angle-adjustable and has flat bearing washers. Misalignment between the shaft and the housing leads to uneven loading of the balls. To compensate for angular misalignment, alternative versions with a spherical housing disc and a suitable shim would be required.
A sheet steel cage guides the rolling elements along their circular path. This cage keeps the balls at a uniform distance apart, prevents them from coming into direct contact with one another and enables the bearing to operate within the permissible temperature range of -30 to +150 degrees.
These designations represent the standard tolerances for rolling bearings in terms of dimensional and running accuracy. P0 according to DIN/ISO and ABEC 1 according to US standards define the permissible dimensional deviations for rings and widths in industrial applications where no higher precision class is specified.
Bearing washers and balls are made from standard roller bearing steel (100Cr6). This material offers dimensional stability and wear resistance under load, provided that the permissible temperature limit of +150 degrees is not exceeded during operation.
