The SKF 51126 axial deep-groove ball bearing, measuring 130 × 170 × 30 mm, withstands high unilateral axial forces in continuous industrial operation.
This rolling bearing is designed as a single-direction type. It guides shafts in an axial direction and transfers the resulting thrust forces directly to the housing. As it is manufactured from standard rolling-element bearing steel (100Cr6), the component offers high dimensional stability under load. The 51126 axial deep-groove ball bearing is suitable for designs in which purely axial loads are expected to occur and no radial forces act on this bearing.
It is primarily used where shafts need to be axially fixed. Typical applications include vertical shaft arrangements and bearing arrangements subject to high unilateral thrust forces in mechanical engineering. As the bearing accommodates thrust forces in one direction only, it is often used as a fixed bearing in combination with separate radial bearings. It is important that the load is purely axial, as radial forces would place an uneven load on the rolling element raceways.
This bearing is not angle-adjustable. The connecting parts on the shaft and housing must therefore be manufactured exactly at right angles to the axis of rotation. Misalignment or tilting leads to edge stresses, which can shorten the service life. The guided sheet steel cage keeps the balls spaced apart and allows for a temperature range of -30 to +150 degrees. During installation, the housing flange must lie flat, as this product is designed without a shim.
As a single-sided assembly, the bearing accommodates pure thrust forces from a single direction. It consists of a shaft washer, a housing washer and a set of balls in a sheet steel cage. With dimensions of 130 mm bore, 170 mm outside diameter and 30 mm width, it is designed for industrial axial loads.
Only unidirectional axial forces are permitted. The bearing withstands thrust forces but is not designed to accommodate transverse forces. For combined load conditions, this axial bearing is usually combined with separate radial bearings on the same shaft.
No, this version is not angle-adjustable. Both bearing washers have flat contact surfaces. To prevent uneven stresses on the rolling elements, the contact surfaces on the housing and shaft must be precisely aligned at right angles to one another.
The permissible operating temperature range is between -30 and +150 degrees. This range is made possible by the hardened standard roller bearing steel 100Cr6 and the sheet steel cage. The thermal operating limits of the selected lubricant must also be taken into account during the design phase.
The bearing is manufactured to standard tolerance P0 or PN, which corresponds to the ABEC 1 classification. This design offers the necessary dimensional and running accuracy for standard industrial applications on professionally machined shaft seats.
The axial deep-groove ball bearing is supplied without washers. The housing washer rests directly on the designated, flat housing shoulder, meaning that there are no spherical compensating elements.
