The FAG 7305 -B-XL-TVP angular contact ball bearing, with a 25 mm bore and a 40-degree contact angle, provides a robust bearing arrangement for combined forces.
This single-row angular contact ball bearing 7305 -B-XL-TVP from FAG accommodates both radial and axial forces in one direction simultaneously. Thanks to the raceways of the inner and outer rings being offset at an angle to one another, the design dissipates axial loads via the contact angle. As an open rolling bearing made from standard 100Cr6 rolling bearing steel, the component is suitable for systems with an existing lubrication supply.
It is primarily installed where high radial loads occur in conjunction with axial forces acting from one side. As a single bearing can only accommodate axial forces in one direction, in practice it is usually mounted in a staggered arrangement with a second bearing or as a matched bearing pair. The design is suitable for industrial bearing arrangements with a defined force direction. The permissible temperature range is from –20 to +120 degrees Celsius.
The suffix ‘B’ denotes the increased contact angle of 40 degrees, which means the bearing is designed for high axial loads. The integrated polyamide cage (suffix ‘TVP’) guides the balls with low friction and ensures smooth running whilst keeping the weight to a minimum. As the bearing is of an open design and has standard radial clearance, you can tailor the choice of lubricant and external seals precisely to your specific housing design.
A single-row angular contact ball bearing of this type has asymmetrical raceways in the inner and outer rings. Thanks to this design, the bearing can accommodate combined loads consisting of radial and unilateral axial forces. The integrated polyamide cage guides the rolling elements along the raceway with minimal vibration.
The bearing has an inner diameter of 25 mm, an outer diameter of 62 mm and a total width of 17 mm. These standardised key dimensions enable a precise fit in corresponding housing and shaft seats of tolerance class P0 or ABEC 1.
The contact angle describes the inclination of the line connecting the points of contact between the balls relative to the radial plane. An angle of 40 degrees gives the component a high axial load-carrying capacity in one direction. The bearing thereby absorbs the corresponding thrust forces.
The open design does not feature any integrated sealing or cover plates. This allows you to connect it directly to an existing oil or grease lubrication system on your plant. When designing the system, ensure that the housing environment prevents the ingress of dirt and moisture via external sealing elements.
Polyamide is characterised by good sliding properties and elastic damping. It reduces running noise during operation and lowers the overall weight of the rotating mass. The cage retains its dimensional stability within the specified temperature range of -20 to +120 degrees.
A single single-row bearing absorbs axial forces in one direction only. If alternating or bidirectional axial forces occur during operation, fit two angular contact ball bearings facing each other, for example in an O or X configuration. This allows the opposing axial forces to support each other.
