The FAG 7211 -B-XL-TVP-UA angular contact ball bearing, with its 40-degree contact angle, accommodates high unilateral axial forces with main dimensions of 55 × 100 × 21 mm.
Single-row angular contact ball bearings of this design transmit combined loads consisting of radial and axial forces specifically via the angularly offset raceways. Owing to the 40-degree contact angle, this design is specifically intended for shaft guides where axial guiding forces act in one direction. Manufactured from standard rolling bearing steel 100Cr6 and featuring an open design, these bearings allow for direct lubrication via the structure’s lubrication system.
This rolling bearing accommodates load conditions in which radial loads act on the shaft simultaneously with significant axial forces in one direction. Thanks to its universal design for paired arrangement, the unit can be fitted in sets in an O or X configuration to accommodate opposing axial forces from both directions. This pre-defined design eliminates the need for adjustment during bearing installation.
The integrated polyamide cage guides the rolling elements whilst being lightweight and is suitable for operating temperatures ranging from –20 to +120 degrees. The suffix ‘UA’ denotes a universal design for paired installation: If two bearings are mounted in an O or X configuration, the bearing set has a specified low axial clearance. This feature facilitates installation and helps to reduce thermally induced stresses in the bearing seat.
The bearing has an inner diameter of 55 mm, an outer diameter of 100 mm and a width of 21 mm. The outer ring is cylindrical in design and has neither a flange nor a ring groove.
The designation ‘UA’ stands for a universal design intended for installation in pairs. When two bearings are fitted in pairs in an O or X configuration, a small amount of axial clearance is automatically established within the bearing set.
A contact angle of 40 degrees gives the bearing a high axial load-carrying capacity in one direction. The forces are transmitted at an angle to the radial plane, thereby supporting combined radial and axial loads.
The polyamide cage guides the balls evenly and ensures smooth, low-friction operation. The material is designed for operating temperatures between -20 and +120 degrees and reduces the overall weight of the bearing unit.
As an open bearing, this design has no integrated sealing washers. Lubricants such as oil or grease can circulate freely. At the same time, the installation point in the machine housing requires external sealing elements to prevent the ingress of dirt.
