The FAG 7206 -B-MP-UA angular contact ball bearing, measuring 30 × 62 × 16 mm, accommodates combined loads at high speeds via a 40-degree contact angle.
The 7206 -B-MP-UA angular contact ball bearing is a single-row rolling bearing made from standard rolling bearing steel (100Cr6) by FAG Rolling Bearings. The design features a bore of 30 mm, an outer diameter of 62 mm and a width of 16 mm. Due to the angular arrangement of the raceways, this roller bearing transmits simultaneously acting radial and axial forces. This open component, which has no integrated seal, operates in a clean lubrication environment with normal radial bearing clearance.
This single-row bearing supports shafts under combined loads and specifically absorbs axial forces in one direction. Typical applications are found in industrial bearing arrangements with predominantly one-sided axial loads. The open design allows for a continuous flow of lubricant and covers a temperature range from -20 to +150 degrees. As a single bearing can only absorb axial forces from one side, the design often combines two bearings in opposition.
The brass cage (MP) maintains the balls’ dimensional stability even under severe vibrations or thermal stress. The suffix B denotes the increased 40-degree contact angle, which improves axial load-carrying capacity whilst providing greater rigidity. The abbreviation UA indicates a universal design for installation in sets. When two bearings are mounted in pairs in an X or O configuration, the bearing set is manufactured with a defined, low axial clearance.
With a 30 mm bore, an outer diameter of 62 mm and a width of 16 mm, this design complies with standardised mounting dimensions. It is manufactured from 100Cr6 roller bearing steel within tolerance class P0 (ABEC 1). The outer ring has no flanges or circumferential grooves.
A contact angle of 40 degrees (designation B) shifts the load transfer more strongly in the axial direction. As a result, the bearing can accommodate higher axial forces in one direction than variants with a shallower angle. The purely radial load-carrying capacity is correspondingly lower than that of radial bearings.
The abbreviation UA denotes a universal design for installation in pairs. When two bearings are arranged in an O or X configuration, the manufacturer ensures a defined, minimal axial clearance. Additional shims for adjusting the clearance are not required with standardised bearing seats.
The designation ‘MP’ stands for a brass cage, which guides the rolling elements with precision even under vibration or at higher operating temperatures. Brass offers mechanical stability and is suitable for demanding lubrication conditions within a temperature range up to +150 degrees.
Due to the open design without integrated sealing washers, lubrication is provided externally via grease or an oil circulation system. The bearing housing requires on-site sealing to protect against contamination. The lubricant selected must be suitable for an operating temperature range of -20 to +150 degrees.
The component is designed for a temperature range of -20 to +150 degrees. Rings and rolling elements made from 100Cr6 rolling bearing steel, as well as the brass cage, remain dimensionally and geometrically stable within this range, provided that the lubricant used is suitable for these thermal conditions.
