The FAG 7210 -B-XL-TVP-P5 angular contact ball bearing (50x90x20 mm) accommodates high radial loads as well as unilateral axial loads with increased P5 running accuracy.
The FAG 7210 -B-XL-TVP-P5 angular contact ball bearing is a single-row rolling bearing made from standard bearing steel (100Cr6) for precisely guided shafts. Thanks to its internal design with a contact angle of 40 degrees, this version transmits combined loads at an angle to the radial plane. Typical applications include bearing arrangements in general mechanical engineering where, in addition to radial forces, defined axial forces act in one direction. As an open bearing, the component fits into lubricated housing assemblies.
This single-row rolling bearing accommodates combined loads consisting of radial forces and unilateral axial forces at a contact angle of 40 degrees. In practice, the bearing is often combined with a suitable mating bearing to support the axial guidance of the shaft on both sides and stabilise the force distribution.
As this is an open bearing without sealing rings, the installation location must be in a clean environment and require an external supply of lubricant, either oil or grease. The permissible temperature range is from –20 to +120 degrees Celsius.
The P5 tolerance class, comparable to ABEC 5, offers tighter dimensional and running tolerances than the standard version and promotes low-vibration operation with precise shaft guidance. In addition, the lightweight polyamide cage (TVP) ensures low-friction guidance of the rolling elements whilst providing shock absorption during operation.
With main dimensions of a 50 mm bore, 90 mm outer diameter and 20 mm width, the component fits into standardised bearing seats. During assembly, the specified direction of the axial load must be observed in accordance with the installation position.
The bearing supports rotating shafts whilst simultaneously absorbing both radial and axial forces in one direction. The contact angle of 40 degrees allows forces to be transmitted at an angle to the shaft axis. For varying axial loads, designers usually combine this single-row component with a suitable mating bearing.
With a bore of 50 mm, an outer diameter of 90 mm and a width of 20 mm, the bearing complies with standardised mounting dimensions. The outer ring has no flange or groove. These standardised dimensions enable a precise fit in corresponding housing bores and on suitable shaft seats.
P5 denotes a higher accuracy class and corresponds to the ABEC 5 rating. Tolerances in terms of dimensions, shape and running accuracy are tighter than with standard bearings. This promotes smooth running and precise shaft guidance in demanding industrial applications.
The polyamide cage, identified by the suffix TVP, guides the rolling elements with low friction and is characterised by its low weight. The material absorbs shocks during operation. In combination with 100Cr6 rolling bearing steel, the bearing is suitable for a temperature range of -20 to +120 degrees Celsius.
As this version is manufactured without integrated seals, the bearing housing must be sealed via the machine casing. Lubricants such as grease or lubricating oil can be supplied flexibly via the surrounding structure. This protects the raceways from dirt and reduces direct metal-to-metal contact.
The letter B in the suffix denotes a nominal pressure angle of 40 degrees. The line of action of the load between the ball and the raceways runs at this angle to the radial plane. This enables the bearing to accommodate high axial forces, but requires a constant minimum load to prevent slippage.
