The 7222 -B-XL-TVP angular contact ball bearing from FAG Wälzlager, with dimensions of 110 x 200 x 38 mm, can accommodate radial and single-sided axial loads.
The 7222 -B-XL-TVP angular contact ball bearing is a single-row rolling bearing designed for demanding industrial applications involving combined loads. In this bearing from FAG Wälzlager, the raceways on the inner and outer rings are offset at an angle to one another. With a bore of 110 mm, an outer diameter of 200 mm and a width of 38 mm, this component is suitable for heavily loaded bearing positions in mechanical engineering. Thanks to its open design made from standard rolling bearing steel 100Cr6, the bearing can be flexibly integrated into existing lubrication circuits.
This single-row angular contact ball bearing is particularly suitable for bearing arrangements where high radial forces and single-sided axial forces occur simultaneously. Design engineers and maintenance personnel typically use the standard version in pairs or in combination with a second bearing to absorb axial forces in both directions. Typical areas of application include industrial applications with combined load requirements and axially guided shafts. As this is an open bearing without integrated sealing washers, the application of a suitable lubricant ensures uniform lubrication of the rolling elements.
The nominal contact angle of 40 degrees enables this bearing to accommodate significant axial loads in one direction. In addition, the integrated polyamide cage guides the rolling elements precisely and dampens operating noise during operation. Due to the cage design, the 7222 -B-XL-TVP angular contact ball bearing is rated for a temperature range of -20 to +120 degrees. Manufactured to tolerance class P0 or ABEC 1, it ensures a dimensionally accurate fit on standard shafts, whilst the standard radial clearance is suitable for normal operating temperatures.
The bearing has a bore of 110 mm, an outer diameter of 200 mm and a width of 38 mm. When replacing bearings in existing assemblies, suitable bearing seats on the shaft and housing ensure that the bearing assembly functions correctly.
The contact angle specifies the direction in which the forces are transmitted from the balls to the raceways. An angle of 40 degrees gives the single-row angular contact ball bearing a high axial load-carrying capacity in one direction. As a result, the bearing is specifically designed to accommodate combined loads consisting of radial and axial forces.
The polyamide cage guides the rolling elements evenly within the bearing and ensures smooth, low-vibration operation. The material has a lower weight than metal cages. For the bearing as a whole, the use of polyamide results in a permissible operating temperature range of -20 to +120 degrees.
As an open roller bearing, this variant is supplied ex-works without any sealing or cover plates. During assembly, the bearing is filled with grease or continuously supplied with lubricating oil via a housing system. External sealing elements on the housing prevent the lubricant from leaking out and protect against the ingress of dirt.
Tolerance class P0 (equivalent to PN or ABEC 1) defines the standard accuracy for dimensional stability and concentricity of the bearing rings. For general mechanical engineering and industrial maintenance, this accuracy class provides a precise fit for all standardised bearing seats on shafts and in housing bores.
As a single-row angular contact ball bearing can only accommodate axial loads in one direction, it is usually mounted opposite a mirror-image counterpart bearing. The O-arrangement or the X-arrangement are the most common configurations. It is only through this paired mounting that the required operating clearance for axial forces in both directions can be defined.
