The FAG 7322 -B-MP-UA angular contact ball bearing (110 × 240 × 50 mm) accommodates high radial forces as well as heavy axial loads on one side via a 40-degree contact angle.
The 7322 -B-MP-UA angular contact ball bearing is designed as a single-row rolling bearing made from standard bearing steel (100Cr6). Its angularly offset raceways effectively distribute combined loads. The open design without integrated lip seals facilitates the flow of lubricants through the operating system. The solid brass cage ensures that the rolling elements remain correctly guided even under heavy loads.
This bearing is primarily used in applications where radial forces and high axial thrust forces in one direction occur simultaneously. The pronounced contact angle of 40 degrees gives the roller bearing a high axial load capacity. As single-row designs, by their very nature, can only accommodate axial forces from one side, they are often fitted in combination with a second angular contact ball bearing as a counter-bearing.
The designator ‘UA’ identifies this model as a universal bearing for installation in pairs. If you fit two bearings of this specification in an O or X arrangement, a small amount of axial clearance is automatically established in the bearing pair without the need for shims. The solid brass cage is resistant to vibrations and, together with the rolling-element bearing steel, covers an operating temperature range of -20 to +200 degrees. As the bearing is of an open design, lubrication and protection against contamination must be provided by the surrounding housing structure.
The single-row angular contact ball bearing, with an inner diameter of 110 mm and an outer diameter of 240 mm, is made from standard 100Cr6 rolling-element bearing steel and, in addition to radial forces, accommodates significant axial loads in one direction. The integrated solid brass cage ensures stable guidance of the balls and withstands thermal stresses during continuous operation.
The component has an internal diameter of 110 mm for the shaft seat, an external diameter of 240 mm for the housing bore and a width of 50 mm. It is manufactured to the standard tolerance class P0/PN (equivalent to ABEC 1) with a cylindrical bore and a smooth outer ring without a flange or groove.
The contact angle describes the inclination of the line connecting the points of contact between the ball and the raceways relative to the radial plane. An angle of 40 degrees is specifically designed for applications in which axial forces predominate over radial forces. The larger this angle, the greater the axial load-carrying capacity of the rolling bearing.
The suffix ‘UA’ denotes a universal bearing for installation in pairs. When fitted in an O or X configuration, the bearing pair is supplied by the manufacturer with a defined, minimal amount of axial clearance. This eliminates the need for manual adjustment of the axial clearance using spacer rings, thereby reducing the effort required for bearing installation.
Thanks to the combination of roller bearing steel and a durable brass cage, the open bearing can be operated within a temperature range of -20 to +200 degrees. When designing the bearing arrangement, it is important to ensure that the grease or lubricating oil is suitable for the relevant temperature range.
The open design allows for continuous lubrication via external oil circuits or immersion baths. Furthermore, there is no frictional resistance within the bearing caused by rubbing sealing lips. To prevent the ingress of dirt particles, the surrounding machine housing, fitted with external seals, acts as a protective barrier.
