SKF single-row angular contact ball bearing 7313 BEP with a 65 mm bore, 140 mm outer diameter and a 40-degree contact angle for combined radial and axial loads.
The SKF 7313 BEP angular contact ball bearing is a single-row radial rolling bearing made from standard bearing steel (100Cr6) with standard radial clearance. Thanks to the diagonally opposed raceways of the inner and outer rings, this design accommodates axial forces in one direction as well as radial loads simultaneously. The open bearing features a polyamide cage for precise guidance of the rolling elements and operates within a temperature range of -20 to +120 degrees Celsius.
Single-row angular contact ball bearings simultaneously accommodate radial forces and unidirectional axial forces. To accommodate opposing axial forces, this design usually requires a second bearing mounted in a mirror-image configuration. This design is used in shaft bearings subjected to combined loads. As it is manufactured to tolerance class P0 (ABEC 1), the unit can be integrated into standardised housing seats.
The 40-degree contact angle ensures that the force is transmitted at a steep angle to the radial plane. As a result, the component can withstand higher unidirectional axial forces than bearings with a smaller contact angle. The integrated polyamide cage is characterised by its low weight and damping properties, which promote smooth running. In the open version without sealing washers, the type of lubricant and housing seal can be tailored to the specific operating conditions.
The design features of this single-row bearing include a 40-degree contact angle and a polyamide cage. It transmits combined radial and axial loads, with the axial load being supported on one side only. It is manufactured to tolerance class P0 (ABEC 1) from 100Cr6 rolling bearing steel.
The main dimensions are 65 mm internal diameter, 140 mm external diameter and 33 mm width. The cylindrical outer ring has neither a groove nor a flange, which means the bearing can be fitted flush into cylindrical housing bores.
This angle determines the inclination of the line of contact between the ball and the raceways relative to the radial plane. A contact angle of 40 degrees gives the bearing increased axial load-carrying capacity in one direction; however, this requires a suitable counter-bearing arrangement during operation.
The permissible operating range extends from -20 to +120 degrees Celsius. The limiting factor here is the polyamide cage, which retains its mechanical properties within this range. When carrying out the thermal design, the limit values of the lubricant used must also be taken into account.
A standard radial bearing clearance is specified by the manufacturer. The actual operating and bearing clearance is only established during assembly, when the angular contact ball bearing is brought into contact with a second bearing or is preloaded. This design is suitable for standard fit conditions.
As an open bearing without integrated sealing washers, the lubricant is supplied as required via the housing system. Depending on the requirements, external grease lubrication or oil circulation systems are used, protected by seals fitted to the housing.
