The FAG 7310 -B-MP-UA angular contact ball bearing, with a 50 mm bore and a 40-degree contact angle, can accommodate high radial and unilateral axial loads.
The FAG 7310 -B-MP-UA angular contact ball bearing is a single-row rolling bearing made from standard bearing steel (100Cr6) with main dimensions of 50x110x27 mm. The design is intended for combined loads in which radial forces act together with axial forces in one direction. As an open bearing, it can be flexibly integrated into existing lubrication systems. Manufactured to the standard tolerance class P0/PN (ABEC 1), it ensures dimensionally accurate installation in continuous industrial operation as well as during maintenance.
Designs involving axial forces acting on one side and simultaneous radial loads constitute the primary area of application for this angular contact ball bearing. Thanks to its steep contact angle of 40 degrees, the bearing specifically absorbs axial forces. Typical applications include shaft mountings where shafts must be guided axially under combined loads. The bearing is usually mounted opposite a second rolling bearing to accommodate alternating force directions.
The abbreviation MP denotes a brass cage that guides the rolling elements and is designed for operating temperatures ranging from –20 to +150 degrees. The suffix ‘UA’ identifies the component as a universally pairable bearing. When fitted in pairs in an O or X arrangement, a small amount of axial clearance is created without the need for shims. This feature simplifies assembly in the workshop and reduces the risk of errors during bearing installation.
The bearing has a bore of 50 mm, an outside diameter of 110 mm and a width of 27 mm. These dimensions correspond to the standardised main dimensions for this size. The outer ring is cylindrical in design and has neither a flange nor a groove, which allows for direct installation in smooth housing bores.
The contact angle describes the line along which forces are transmitted from one raceway to the other via the balls. In the -B version, this angle is 40 degrees. A larger contact angle increases the bearing’s axial load capacity but, conversely, reduces its purely radial load capacity compared with shallower angles.
Bearings with the suffix ‘UA’ are designed by the manufacturer to be compatible with one another, meaning they can be combined in any way. When arranged as a pair of bearings in an O or X configuration, a predetermined, small amount of axial clearance is automatically established. This means that there is no need for time-consuming calibration or adjustment using spacer rings during assembly.
The brass cage (MP) is characterised by its high stability and wear resistance. It reliably guides the balls along the raceways even in the event of severe vibrations or rapid changes in rotational speed. Furthermore, brass is suitable for a temperature range of -20 to +150 degrees and is resistant to many industrial lubricants.
As an open bearing, this design has no integrated cover or sealing washers. This allows the lubricant – usually oil or grease from a centralised lubrication system – to circulate unhindered through the interior of the bearing. At the same time, open components can be easily cleaned prior to assembly and filled directly with the lubricant specified for the entire system.
This roller bearing, made from standard 100Cr6 bearing steel, is designed for operation between -20 and +150 degrees. Both the brass cage and the steel components retain their dimensional stability and mechanical properties within this temperature range. A lubricant approved for these temperatures must always be selected for operation.
