The FAG 7309 -B-XL-TVP single-row angular contact ball bearing, with a 45 mm bore and a 40-degree contact angle, is designed to absorb axial loads.
The 7309 -B-XL-TVP from FAG Rolling Bearings is a single-row rolling bearing made from standard rolling bearing steel (100Cr6) with a bore of 45 mm, an outer diameter of 100 mm and a width of 25 mm. This design has a contact angle of 40 degrees and is suitable for supporting radial loads combined with axial forces acting on one side. It is manufactured to tolerance class P0/PN (ABEC 1) with standard radial clearance.
This single-row bearing is used where radial forces act on the shaft together with single-sided axial forces. Thanks to the contact angle of 40 degrees, the design accommodates axial forces in one direction. Typical applications include bearing arrangements subject to combined loads in a primary load direction. For alternating axial loads, users usually fit a second bearing in a mirror-image configuration as a counter-bearing at the bearing location.
The designation ‘TVP’ indicates a guided cage made of polyamide. This material reduces the weight of the rotating parts and promotes smooth running with low noise levels. The open bearing allows lubrication with oil or grease via the surrounding housing. The permissible temperature range of –20 to +120 degrees and protection against dirt particles at the bearing location must be taken into account.
The dimensions are 45 mm internal diameter, 100 mm external diameter and 25 mm width. The outer ring has no groove or flange. It is a single-row bearing in standard design.
The contact angle describes the inclination of the line connecting the contact points of the ball and the raceways relative to the radial plane. An angle of 40 degrees, indicated by the suffix ‘B’, enables the bearing to accommodate high axial forces in one direction whilst simultaneously withstanding radial loads.
The designation TVP refers to a solid polyamide cage which guides the rolling elements and keeps them spaced apart. This type of cage operates quietly, dampens vibrations and is suitable for operating temperatures between -20 and +120 degrees.
If there are no integrated seals, lubrication is carried out externally via the structure’s housing using grease or lubricating oil. The surrounding machine housing also protects the bearing housing against the ingress of dirt and moisture.
The bearing is manufactured with standard radial bearing clearance. The effective operating clearance is established after the bearing has been pressed onto the shaft and fitted into the housing, and it affects both running smoothness and load distribution during operation.
The manufacture complies with tolerance class P0 or PN, which corresponds to the international ABEC 1 classification. This standard tolerance meets the standard requirements in industrial mechanical engineering and general drive technology.
