The FAG 7216 -B-XL-TVP angular contact ball bearing (80x140x26 mm) accommodates high axial forces on one side as well as radial loads with a contact angle of 40 degrees.
The 7216 -B-XL-TVP angular contact ball bearing is manufactured by FAG Wälzlager and is designed as a single-row radial ball bearing for combined loads. Thanks to the diagonally opposed raceways of the inner and outer rings, the component specifically dissipates axial forces in one direction. Manufactured from standard rolling-element bearing steel (100Cr6), the open bearing provides a solid foundation for demanding mechanical assemblies with a defined direction of rotation.
This single-row bearing is particularly recommended for shaft mountings where unilateral axial loads occur in conjunction with radial forces. Designs typically utilise this type where combined loads must be accommodated in a defined direction of rotation. As single-row angular contact ball bearings can only accommodate axial forces in one direction, they are usually fitted in mechanical engineering in conjunction with a mirror-image counter-bearing.
The nominal contact angle of 40 degrees (designation B) increases the axial load capacity compared with bearings with a smaller angle. The suffix TVP refers to the polyamide cage, which guides the rolling elements with low vibration and reduces the overall weight of the unit. The standard radial clearance and the tolerance class P0/PN (corresponding to ABEC 1) allow for direct integration into standardised shaft and housing seats.
The single-row bearing absorbs both radial and axial forces in exactly one direction. The contact angle of 40 degrees ensures that the resulting forces are transmitted at an angle to the radial plane. For alternating or bidirectional axial loads, a second bearing, mounted in the opposite direction, is required.
The bearing has a bore of 80 mm for the shaft, an outer diameter of 140 mm and a width of 26 mm. The outer ring is cylindrical, with no groove or flange, which facilitates installation in standardised housings.
The designation TVP refers to a polyamide cage. This material is characterised by low friction and elastic guidance of the balls. Furthermore, the polyamide cage ensures quiet operation of the rolling elements.
The permissible temperature range is between -20 and +120 degrees Celsius. This range is largely determined by the polyamide cage and the standard roller bearing steel 100Cr6. You must take these limits into account when selecting the lubricant.
This is an open bearing without integrated sliding or lip seals. Grease or lubricating oil must be supplied via the surrounding machine housing. At the same time, an external housing seal protects the interior from dirt particles and moisture.
