The FAG 7213 -B-XL-TVP-UA angular contact ball bearing, measuring 65 × 120 × 23 mm, reliably accommodates combined radial and single-direction axial loads.
The 7213 -B-XL-TVP-UA angular contact ball bearing is manufactured as a single-row rolling bearing from standard bearing steel (100Cr6) and has a standard radial clearance. It complies with tolerance class P0/PN or ABEC 1. With its defined contact angle of 40 degrees, the bearing primarily accommodates high axial forces in one direction, whilst simultaneously providing secure support for radial forces acting in the same direction. The integrated polyamide cage guides the ball row quietly and ensures favourable friction behaviour during operation.
This bearing design is primarily used where rotating shaft bearings are subjected to combined loads. Typical applications include industrial drives, gearboxes and machine components with a defined unilateral axial load. As this is an open bearing without an integrated seal, the lubricant must be supplied via the surrounding housing. The open design allows for flexible lubrication with grease or oil. The specified operating range covers a temperature range from -20 to +120 degrees.
The suffix ‘UA’ designates the bearing as a universally combinable version for installation in pairs. If two bearings from this series are mounted opposite each other in an O or X arrangement, the resulting bearing pair immediately exhibits a defined, low axial clearance. Manual measurement and readjustment of the bearing clearance using shims is not required for this pairing. As the outer ring is manufactured without a flange or groove, the unit can be slid neatly into a flat, cylindrical housing bore.
The main dimensions are 65 mm bore diameter, 120 mm outside diameter and 23 mm width. The outer ring is cylindrical in design and has neither a flange nor a groove, which means the bearing can be fitted precisely into cylindrical housing bores.
A contact angle of 40 degrees means that the line of force transmission between the raceway and the balls is at an angle to the radial plane. As a result, the single-row bearing can accommodate high axial loads in one direction. In the opposite direction, a suitable mating bearing must provide axial support.
The suffix ‘TVP’ indicates a polyamide cage. This type of cage is lightweight, dampens running noise and ensures low-friction guidance of the rolling elements. It is designed for operating temperatures between -20 and +120 degrees.
Bearings marked with the suffix ‘UA’ are designed for installation in sets. When two bearings are fitted in an O or X configuration, a small amount of axial play is achieved straight away without the need for shims. This saves time during assembly and reduces the risk of misalignment in the workshop.
As the bearing is designed as an open bearing ex works and without sealing washers, the housing design protects it from dirt and moisture. External shaft seals seal the bearing housing where necessary, whilst lubrication is provided by grease or oil.
