The FAG 7210 -B-XL-TVP angular contact ball bearing (50x90x20 mm) accommodates radial loads as well as high axial loads on one side and features a lightweight polyamide cage.
The 7210 -B-XL-TVP angular contact ball bearing is a single-row rolling bearing from FAG with a bore of 50 mm, an outside diameter of 90 mm and a width of 20 mm. Thanks to the specific arrangement of the raceways, this design can simultaneously accommodate radial forces and axial forces acting on one side. Manufactured from standard roller bearing steel 100Cr6 and featuring standard radial clearance, this open bearing is suitable for demanding applications in general mechanical engineering. When you purchase this rolling bearing, you receive an industry-proven solution in tolerance class P0/PN (ABEC 1).
The 7210 -B-XL-TVP angular contact ball bearing is primarily used where shaft bearings must accommodate not only transverse forces but also axial forces in one direction. Thanks to its 40-degree contact angle, this single-row bearing can withstand high axial loads. Its use is recommended for combined loads with a defined direction of force. As it is an open design, the bearing can be supplied with oil or grease directly via the lubrication system of the overall plant.
The designation ‘B’ refers to the 40-degree contact angle. This angle facilitates the absorption of axial loads; however, it requires a suitable counter-guide when force directions vary. The TVP cage, made of polyamide, is characterised by its low weight and elastic properties, which reduce noise during operation. The bearing is designed for operating temperatures ranging from -20 to +120 degrees. When designing the application, please note that open angular contact ball bearings must be protected against contamination from the environment.
The suffix ‘TVP’ denotes a window cage made of polyamide. This material is characterised by its low weight, which reduces inertial forces during changes in rotational speed. Furthermore, polyamide promotes smooth, low-vibration operation of the rolling bearing. The permissible temperature range is between –20 and +120 degrees.
This single-row bearing has an inner diameter of 50 mm, an outer diameter of 90 mm and a width of 20 mm. It complies with the standard tolerance class P0/PN or ABEC 1. Thanks to its standardised main dimensions, the angular contact ball bearing can be easily integrated into existing shaft and housing fits in mechanical engineering applications.
The contact angle determines the angle at which forces are transmitted between the raceways and the rolling elements. With a contact angle of 40 degrees (suffix B), this bearing is designed to accommodate high axial forces in one direction. For purely radial loads, a deep-groove ball bearing is generally recommended, whilst the 40-degree angle efficiently handles axial support forces.
As an open roller bearing, this design does not feature any integrated sealing washers. Lubrication is provided via the machine housing, either with grease or lubricating oil. With open bearings, users must ensure that the bearing housing remains protected from ingress of dirt and moisture by means of external shaft seals, in order to prevent premature wear.
Due to its design, a single single-row angular contact ball bearing can only accommodate axial loads in one direction. If alternating or axial forces acting in both directions occur during operation, designers fit two bearings in pairs facing each other, for example in an O or X arrangement. This ensures that the shaft is guided without play in both directions.
The bearing is specified for continuous operation between -20 and +120 degrees. This range is largely determined by the polyamide cage and the standard 100Cr6 rolling bearing steel. When operating near the limit values, care must be taken to ensure that the lubricant used is approved for the same thermal conditions.
