The SKF 7210 BECBP angular contact ball bearing, measuring 50x90x20 mm, can accommodate high radial loads as well as axial loads in one direction.
The single-row angular contact ball bearing 7210 BECBP is an open rolling bearing made from standard bearing steel (100Cr6) with a 50 mm bore, 90 mm outside diameter and 20 mm width. Thanks to the contact angle of 40 degrees, this design transmits combined forces at an angle to the radial plane. Installation is recommended when shafts are subjected not only to radial forces but also to defined unilateral axial forces. As an SKF Explorer version, the unit features enhanced dimensional accuracy to P6 and running accuracy to P5 for precise shaft guidance.
This single-row bearing is suitable for applications where axial forces from one direction act in conjunction with radial forces. Suitable applications include, in particular, shaft guides with a defined axial thrust load. As the bearing pair has a small axial clearance in O and X arrangements, the BECBP variant can also be mounted in sets to accommodate axial loads on both sides. The permissible temperature range extends from -20 to +120 degrees, covering a wide range of industrial operating conditions.
The suffix BECBP denotes specific design features of this bearing. The letter B denotes the 40-degree contact angle, whilst CB indicates a defined axial clearance when arranged in pairs in an O or X configuration. The built-in polyamide cage guides the rolling elements with low vibration and low friction within the temperature range of -20 to +120 degrees. As this is an open bearing without integrated seals, external sealing of the bearing housing and a continuous supply of lubricant must be ensured.
The bore measures 50 mm, the outer diameter is 90 mm and the width is 20 mm. The outer ring has neither a flange nor a ring groove, meaning that the bearing fits into standardised cylindrical housing bores. Thanks to these standard dimensions, this single-row roller bearing is suitable for a wide range of shaft designs in mechanical and plant engineering.
A contact angle of 40 degrees directs the forces through the bearing at an angle to the radial plane. This geometry allows the bearing to accommodate high axial forces in one direction, combined with radial load-carrying capacity. For applications subject primarily to thrust loads, this angle provides stiffer axial support for the rotating shaft than bearings with a smaller contact angle.
A single 7210 BECBP angular contact ball bearing has standard radial clearance. When two of these bearings are combined in an O or X arrangement, the manufacturer ensures that a small amount of axial clearance is provided within the bearing pair. This facilitates installation in pairs, as the operating clearance can be achieved with specified mounting fits without the need for time-consuming individual adjustment of spacer rings.
The bearing is an open design without integrated sealing washers or cover plates. Before commissioning, the bearing housing must be filled with grease or oil and an effective external seal must be fitted to the housing. The polyamide cage and the 100Cr6 rolling bearing steel are designed for operating temperatures between -20 and +120 degrees.
In this Explorer version, the bearing has a dimensional accuracy of tolerance class P6 and a running accuracy of tolerance class P5. Both classes exceed the normal standard tolerances. They result in smaller deviations in concentricity and in the mating dimensions, which contributes to smoother running and reduced vibrations on the shaft.
As a single bearing, the single-row design absorbs axial forces in one direction only. If alternating or bidirectional axial loads are to be supported, you must mount two bearings back-to-back. As the model is designed for O and X configurations, it can be fitted in sets to reliably absorb forces in both directions.
