The FAG 7206 -B-XL-TVP-UA angular contact ball bearing (30 × 62 × 16 mm) is designed to withstand high unilateral axial and radial loads in mechanical engineering applications.
The FAG 7206 -B-XL-TVP-UA angular contact ball bearing is a single-row rolling bearing with a 30 mm bore, 62 mm outer diameter and 16 mm width. Manufactured from standard rolling-element bearing steel (100Cr6) in tolerance class P0/PN (ABEC 1), this design is suitable for combined loads. As an open bearing without an integrated seal, it can be operated flexibly with external lubricants. The polyamide cage guides the rolling elements with low vibration within an operating temperature range of –20 to +120 degrees Celsius.
This single-row bearing supports radial forces and single-sided axial forces. Thanks to its contact angle of 40 degrees, it effectively absorbs axial loads. Typical applications include bearing arrangements subject to combined loads, where shafts must be guided with precision. As single-row angular contact ball bearings can only accommodate axial forces in one direction, in practice they are usually used in conjunction with a mirror-image mounted mating bearing.
The suffix ‘UA’ denotes a universal design for installation in pairs. When fitted in an O or X arrangement, a small amount of axial clearance is established for the bearing pair without the need for additional shims. This simplifies installation during maintenance and production work. When designing the assembly, ensure there is an effective external seal to protect the open bearing from foreign particles. The integrated polyamide cage limits the operating temperature to a maximum of +120 degrees Celsius.
With an internal diameter of 30 mm, an external diameter of 62 mm and a width of 16 mm, the bearing complies with the standardised dimensions of the 7206 series. The cylindrical outer ring has neither a flange nor a groove, which means it can be fitted flush into suitable housing bores.
The 40-degree contact angle is characteristic of the B version and enables the transmission of high axial loads in conjunction with radial forces. The inclined raceways effectively support the longitudinal forces acting on the bearing. Compared with bearings with a smaller contact angle, this version can withstand higher axial forces in one direction.
The abbreviation TVP refers to a polyamide cage. This material ensures a low moment of inertia and guides the rolling elements with minimal vibration and noise. The dimensionally stable polyamide cage limits the permissible operating temperature range of the rolling bearing to between –20 and +120 degrees Celsius.
Without integrated seals or cover plates, this bearing is lubricated externally with grease or oil. To prevent the lubricant from leaking out and dirt particles from entering, an external housing seal is required at the bearing location.
Bearings marked with the suffix ‘UA’ are designed to be fitted in sets. When two of these bearings are mounted on a shaft in an O or X configuration, a small amount of axial clearance is created as a result of the design. This eliminates the need to measure up to fit rings manually and speeds up the assembly process.
The angular contact ball bearing is manufactured to the standard tolerance P0 or PN, which corresponds to ABEC Class 1 in international terminology. This tolerance class fully meets the standard accuracy requirements of general mechanical engineering and industrial maintenance.
