The 7205 -B-XL-TVP angular contact ball bearing from FAG Wälzlager, with dimensions of 25x52x15 mm, is designed for combined radial and axial loads.
This single-row angular contact ball bearing 7205 -B-XL-TVP accommodates radial loads as well as axial forces in one direction. Thanks to the contact angle of 40 degrees, the design distributes the acting forces obliquely across the rolling elements. The manufacturer, FAG Wälzlager, produces the rings from standard roller bearing steel (100Cr6). The open design, without a flange or groove on the outer ring, allows for flexible lubricant supply via the surrounding housing system.
Typical applications for this rolling bearing include shaft mountings where, in addition to radial forces, unidirectional axial forces are also present. As a single bearing can only accommodate axial loads in one direction, it is often fitted in combination with a second, oppositely mounted angular contact ball bearing. The standard radial clearance and the tolerance class P0/PN (ABEC 1) meet the usual requirements in general mechanical engineering.
The designation TVP indicates a polyamide cage which guides the balls and keeps rolling resistance low. This material dampens vibrations and reduces noise during rotation. The component can be used within a temperature range of -20 to +120 degrees. As the bearing is of an open design, the bearing housing requires an external seal to protect against contamination, as well as a suitable lubrication supply.
This single-row roller bearing has a bore of 25 mm, an outside diameter of 52 mm and a width of 15 mm. With a contact angle of 40 degrees, it is suitable for radial loads in combination with single-sided axial forces.
The suffix ‘TVP’ denotes a solid polyamide cage. This cage guides the rolling elements quietly, dampens operational vibrations and is characterised by its low weight.
The contact angle describes the inclination of the line connecting the points of contact between the ball and the raceways relative to the radial plane. A contact angle of 40 degrees increases the axial load-carrying capacity in one direction compared with bearings with shallower angles.
The component is specified for a temperature range of -20 to +120 degrees. Within these limits, both the standard 100Cr6 rolling-element bearing steel and the polyamide cage retain their mechanical properties and dimensional stability.
This is an open design without integrated seals. To prevent the ingress of dirt particles or moisture and to prevent the lubricant from escaping, the housing must be sealed externally.
The model complies with tolerance class P0/PN or ABEC 1. This accuracy class meets the standard requirements for dimensional accuracy and concentricity in industrial plant engineering and general drive technology.
