The FAG 7201 -B-XL-TVP angular contact ball bearing is designed for shafts with a 12 mm bore and can accommodate combined radial and single-direction axial loads.
The 7201 -B-XL-TVP angular contact ball bearing is a single-row rolling bearing from FAG Rolling Bearings, designed for combined loads. Its dimensions are 12 mm inner diameter, 32 mm outer diameter and 10 mm width. Manufactured from standard roller bearing steel (100Cr6), this open bearing features solid inner and outer rings without a flange or groove. Thanks to its standard radial clearance and standard tolerance class P0 (ABEC 1), this design is suitable for precisely guided rotary movements in industrial assemblies and workshop applications.
In addition to radial forces, this design accommodates significant axial forces acting on the bearing position from a single direction. The 40-degree contact angle ensures that the axial load components are specifically transmitted via the raceways. To accommodate axial loads from both sides, a paired arrangement with a correspondingly oppositely mounted bearing is usually required.
The single-row component in a compact standard design allows for precise tuning of the bearing arrangement in new designs or during refurbishment. To ensure reliable operation, care must be taken to ensure a dimensionally accurate mating structure and the precise alignment of the shaft axis.
The designation TVP indicates a polyamide cage, which ensures quiet running and low friction. The permissible temperature range extends from –20 to +120 degrees Celsius, meaning the bearing is designed for standard operating temperatures. The 40-degree contact angle (designation letter B) enables a high axial load-carrying capacity in the direction of action. As this version is open, the bearing location must be supplied with lubricant on site and sealed via the surrounding housing.
With a bore of 12 mm, an outside diameter of 32 mm and a width of 10 mm, this roller bearing complies with the standardised dimensions of the 7201 series. When designing the shaft and housing bore, care must be taken to select the appropriate fit for these dimensions.
A contact angle of 40 degrees, designated by the suffix B, defines the force transmission between the inner and outer rings. This geometry enables the effective absorption of unidirectional axial forces in conjunction with simultaneously applied radial loads.
The permissible temperature range is from -20 to +120 degrees Celsius. The upper temperature limit is determined by the dimensionally stable polyamide cage (TVP). When selecting a lubricant, operators should ensure that it is approved for the intended temperature range of the bearing location.
Open bearings do not come with integrated sealing or cover rings as standard. This design allows the user to choose the lubrication method, whether via an external system or a specific grease. To protect against contamination and lubricant loss, the surrounding machine housing must provide a suitable seal.
The model is designed with standard radial bearing clearance and manufactured to tolerance class P0 or ABEC 1. This standard level of precision is sufficient for the majority of common industrial drives and workshop applications. Special preloads or tighter manufacturing tolerances are not required for this basic type.
The designation TVP refers to a polyamide cage. This material is characterised by its low weight and good damping properties, which contribute to smooth running. The material limits the maximum operating temperature to +120 degrees Celsius.
