The SKF 3307 ATN9/C3 double-row angular contact ball bearing, with dimensions of 35x80x34.9 mm, can accommodate high radial loads as well as axial loads in both directions.
The SKF 3307 ATN9/C3 open angular contact ball bearing is a double-row rolling bearing made from standard bearing steel (100Cr6). Thanks to two rows of balls and a contact angle of 30 degrees, this design supports radial forces as well as axial forces in both directions. With a bore of 35 mm, an outer diameter of 80 mm and a width of 34.9 mm, the component offers a compact unit for precision-fit bearing locations. The integrated polyamide cage guides the rolling elements quietly.
This double-row roller bearing accommodates combined loads from alternating axial directions and radial forces. Thanks to the contact angle of 30 degrees, the unit counteracts tilting moments without the need to fit a separate pair of bearings. It is recommended for use in shaft mountings with axial guidance on both sides. The open bearing allows lubrication via the surrounding housing space within a temperature range of -20 to +120 degrees Celsius.
The C3 designation indicates a slightly increased radial clearance compared with the standard version. This variant is recommended where temperature differences occur between the inner and outer rings during operation, or where tight fits reduce the operating clearance after installation. In addition, tolerance class P6 (equivalent to ABEC 3) offers improved dimensional and running accuracy. As this is an open bearing without sealing washers, you should tailor the housing seal and lubricant supply to your specific design.
The main dimensions are 35 mm for the bore, 80 mm for the outer diameter and 34.9 mm in width. The outer ring is cylindrical, with no groove or flange. These standardised mounting dimensions enable a precise fit when installed in suitable bearing housings and on prepared shaft seats.
Double-row angular contact ball bearings accommodate radial forces as well as axial loads in both directions simultaneously. The 30-degree contact angle ensures high structural rigidity and helps to counteract any tilting moments that may occur. You therefore benefit from the combined function of two single bearings arranged opposite each other, all within a compact width of 34.9 mm.
The designation C3 indicates a slightly increased radial bearing clearance compared with the standard version. This additional clearance compensates for thermal expansion caused by temperature differences between the shaft and the housing. Furthermore, the C3 bearing clearance helps to prevent the rolling elements from becoming stressed when tight fits reduce the radial operating clearance after assembly.
At SKF, the designation TN9 refers to a polyamide cage. This material is characterised by its low weight, elastic properties and smooth running. The cage guides the balls in both rows and is designed for the bearing’s permissible operating temperature range of -20 to +120 degrees Celsius.
Bearings in tolerance class P6 (in accordance with US standard ABEC 3) have tighter manufacturing tolerances in terms of dimensional, geometric and running accuracy than standard bearings. This characteristic promotes uniform concentricity and reduces vibrations during operation, which is essential for precision shaft mountings.
As this bearing is designed without integrated sealing or cover washers, the lubricant reaches the raceways and the polyamide cage directly. Lubrication is provided by grease or lubricating oil in the surrounding housing. External housing seals must be fitted to protect against contamination and lubricant loss.
