The FAG 3216 -B-TVH-C3 double-row angular contact ball bearing (80 × 140 × 44.4 mm) accommodates radial and axial forces on both sides with a slightly increased bearing clearance.
The FAG 3216 -B-TVH-C3 double-row angular contact ball bearing is an open rolling bearing made from standard bearing steel (100Cr6) with a bore diameter of 80 mm, 140 mm outer diameter and 44.4 mm width. Thanks to its double-row design and a contact angle of 40 degrees, this bearing unit supports radial loads and axial forces acting in both directions in a compact form. It is manufactured to tolerance class P0/PN or ABEC 1. This design offers rigid support with precise shaft guidance.
The double-row angular contact ball bearing 3216 -B-TVH-C3 is suitable for applications where combined radial and axial forces from both directions need to be accommodated. Functionally, the geometry corresponds to two angular contact ball bearings in an O-arrangement, but requires a smaller axial installation width. This design provides rigid guidance for precisely mounted shafts in compact housings.
As this is an open bearing without integrated sealing washers, the lubricant can be freely selected. This facilitates integration into existing oil or grease circulation lubrication systems.
The TVH polyamide cage reduces the weight of the rotating components and promotes quiet running of the rolling bearing. In conjunction with the slightly increased radial clearance (C3), this design compensates for operational temperature differences between the shaft and the housing. The design for operating temperatures ranging from -20 to +120 degrees is particularly recommended for tight fits, which reduce the radial operating clearance after installation.
With a bore of 80 mm, an outside diameter of 140 mm and a width of 44.4 mm, the bearing complies with the standardised dimensions of the 3216 series. The outer ring is cylindrical, without a flange or groove.
C3 denotes a slightly increased radial bearing clearance compared with the standard version. This additional clearance between the rolling elements and raceways prevents stress build-up when the shaft heats up during operation or when tight bearing seats reduce the operating clearance.
The polyamide cage (TVH) is characterised by good damping properties and a low weight, which promotes smooth running. The permissible temperature range for this cage design is between -20 and +120 degrees.
As an open bearing, this design does not feature any factory-fitted sealing washers. This allows the lubricant – for example, in an oil bath or via a centralised lubrication system – to circulate freely. External housing seals protect the bearing housing from dirt and moisture.
Thanks to its two rows of balls and a contact angle of 40 degrees, the bearing can accommodate high radial loads as well as axial loads in both directions. The internal geometry is functionally equivalent to two angular contact ball bearings arranged opposite each other and provides high positioning accuracy for rotating shafts.
Manufactured to the standard tolerance P0 or PN, this design complies with ABEC Class 1. This tolerance class meets standard requirements in mechanical engineering and ensures a precise fit on shafts and in housing bores.
